Other prophets,martyrs,angels and Awliyaa(pious pple) also intercede but prophet Muhamed (Pbuh)is the first one to speak to Allah and his intercessions are general i.e he will be appreciated not only by humans and Jinns but also by animals.That is called makham mahamuda in Arabic.
