We have simple pure silk and cotton sarees which cost Rs 100 in 1978 . I think they are of much better quality then what we buy now . *Polyester and other synthetic threads , inferior quality of silk and mercerized cotton have become raw materials of sarees* which has deteriorated the life of a saree. Encore in Hyderabad sold great clothes then. *Our best are exported abroad*, the very reason that British came to India . *It still continues* Thank you for sharing
