  • A massive new village being built in East London is getting closer to completion after more homes in the scheme got the green light. The Barking Riverside plan saw 167 new homes approved - the latest step in a huge masterplan to regenerate an old factory area on the banks of the Thames. When completed, the neighbourhood will have at least 10,800 new homes.
The newest addition to the Barking Riverside village will see 167 homes built, along with a large park and parking spaces for residents. The homes will be a mix of one-, two- and three-bed flats and houses. The site's developers said 80 of the homes would be ‘affordable’ for Barking and Dagenham residents.
Many of the homes at Barking Riverside have already been built, with dozens of residents moving into the new town. However, most of the houses, flats and shops planned for the area have yet to be built. As well as homes, Barking Riverside will have a new school, a huge health centre and large public parks.

The information available isn’t clear on where phase 3 will be - and it’s called fielders quarter. It imagine it’s the blocks being built shown at 5:35

Hey, Harri. Do you happen to remember where this lift is? th-cam.com/video/Tj0eCIBhJe0/w-d-xo.html I think it might be 112 Great Russel Street.

That was in the I’m not sure 100% of the name but it was in I think the YMCA building in The Barbican (main lifts were replaced with Jackson lifts and the original Otis was the service lift in the back area). It was 100% in the Barbican area of London.

@@harrisonhealey1679 Thanks for that! It seems that the building has been turned into ‘luxury apartments’ now, so it’s unlikely the old Otis is still there.
