I like the way you review books. It is actually helpful, insightful, and interesting. You set the vibes well for each book. You’re good at giving the pros, cons, and the feelings the book gave you as you were reading.
Queen 👑👑👑 Thank you so much for buddy reading Bunny with us!!! I love that nearly everyone had something to add to the conversation surrounding this book. Wild how we can all read the same book and get different meanings from it! I agree Bunny is better upon a reread! Innnteresting to hear about Supplication. I am planning to read it for the Horror Hideout book club this month💃. I saw the audio was only 6 hours which I love 🙏 Thank you for the heads up!
18:08 sounds like a lot of the issue was audio part. The rest of the series is wonderful. Vandermeer tends to really get you to understand the world in his first book of his series’s. I love that you have started reading his stuff. He is one of my absolute favorite authors! Borne is honestly the book I would recommend as a stand alone and a great entry point to his style
I’m so happy I found your channel! “Annihilation”… I think I’ve seen a movie based on this book? 🤔 love a science based horror books!!! Also “Tear” sounds amazing 🤩 Thank you for sharing ☺️
I'm happy you did too!! 🤗 Yes! There is a movie adaptation for annihilation that I definitely plan to watch. Into the Drowning deep by mira grant is a great science based horror with much more emphasis on the science. Thanks for watching ☺️
Bummer that Bloom didn't work for you. I still want to read it at some point, but I'll admit that it's not as high on my TBR anymore 😂 Supplication lost me early on, but I'm keeping my arc to give it another try. The writing didn't hit for me right away, but I'm glad you enjoyed it. Annihilation sounds interesting and has been on my radar, but I have to be in the mood for something like that.
Still do read it bc I want to know what you think 😂😂 I've heard so many 5 star reviews though, so it could still be a hit!! Yeah supplication will not have a high average rating. It will lose a lot of readers early on honestly.
Oh my gosh you totally hated Bloom 🤣🤣 I didn't notice the language stuff you mentioned but I could see why blowing through the red flags would be annoying for people to read! I found it relatable but I can also see how it can make people feel frustrated to have to witness. I went into the book looking for dark cottagecore vibes and I got that from it! Now that I think about it, it is very similar to Maeve Fly, which I think you might have read. If not, get on that because it's calling your name!! But Maeve Fly had more intrigue than this one, which I think is why Bloom fell flat for me. Like you said, there's nothing being kept from us because we as readers have suspicions that ultimately end up being true so we're like YEP, KNEW IT when characters finally fess up to what's been going on. I need more horror books that have farmers market settings though. I really loved that juxtaposition. 🤣
Well you wouldn't notice the language stuff bc you're smart 😂😂 I did read maeve fly.. I was unimpressed 😅🙈 it was okay, not bad, but I was not convinced by the character and there was stuff that felt like it was there just for shock value, and then there were just too many elements that overall made the progression feel off to me. But the dark cottagecore horror releases better start now!! I need one that does what I hoped bloom would.
Ugh! I hate pretentious writing! It reminds of an ex-boyfriend 😅 Oooh, I read the Southern Reach trilogy years ago! And I remember really enjoying all of them especially Authority! It's not journals but you follow a dude named Control, and he is very much like his name 😂😂😂 I'm a huge fan of Alex Garland film Annihilation as well! Also, Borne, Strange Bird, and Dead Astronauts are connected 🤗 I still have to read Dead Astronauts but really enjoyed the others too!! Awesome wrap-up!!
Hahahaha not the ex-bf flashback! I hope I like it just little more as it goes and I read physically. I Didn't dislike it by any means, but just had other reads that stood out much more. I definitely want to watch the movie asap!! Thank you! ☺️🩷
Ooo you'll have to let me know what you think if you do get to it! I read it both times physically, so I hope the audiobook doesn't make it even more confusing for you bc it is already confusing enough on its own lol
Dark and moody till I die 💀 I say still read it bc it's short and so many people are loving it. I feel like the odd one out bc I've only heard like 4 and 5 star reviews 🫠🫣
Thank you so much!! I do not mind at all ☺️☺️ I use a few colors and make my own mix of them, but in the front I use "ex-girl" by Good Dye Young and "pastel bubble gum pink" by iroiro. And the back is ex-girl again but mixed with "plum" by iroiro 🩷💜

I definitely think it was that!! I'm excited to continue with it physically. I hope I connect more that way ☺️ I will also definitely look into borne

I listened to Bunny several years ago and really liked it but your video has convinced me to get a hard copy and read it again! 🐇
So worth the reread! I hope you enjoy it just as much if not more ☺️

@@WickedScorpio oh now I remember your review of Maeve Fly from way back! Yes yes!

Bunny is available on audiobook for my local library on libby so i might start it

@@WickedScorpio I'm hoping so. Libby doesn't have the ebook and no wait list for audio
Oooh sounds fun!! ❤
feel bad cus i dnf'd bunny after finishing part one.. just wasn't for me. it put me into a bit of a slump. but maybe i'll pick it back up someday.
Don't feel bad at all!! Everyone has their own taste. It's a very different, strange story, so you're totally valid for not vibing with it 🖤
Lol I will be shocked the day my top mood is not dark
Naurrr I've heard similar reviews for Bloom but it almost makes me want to read it more? 😂
Dark and moody till I die 💀
I say still read it bc it's short and so many people are loving it. I feel like the odd one out bc I've only heard like 4 and 5 star reviews 🫠🫣
I absolutely love your hair. What colors do you use? (If you don't mind me asking)

Great wrap up 📚☕😈🦇💀👻🎪🎠🤡
