im not sure why but i was more scared to talk to vatsim atc than real atc for the first time

Dude, keep this series going. I would love it if you also start a vlog and take us on your "A day in the life of A320 pilot" And explain the difference between sim and real life!!! I think that will go viral. Many pilots show their daily life, but not many can really help us simmers visualize the difference.

What may also be helpful for people is getting a notebook. I have a notebook where I log all of my flights and each individual flight notes, etc. This way, I can look back on any of my flights or if I’m using an airport again, I’ll have a better idea of what to expect from ATC. Plus it feels more legit having a notebook!

When I was learning to fly it was very common for students to be more nervous about talking on the radio for the first time than actually flying the aircraft. Just do what I did and write down exactly what you want to say. It's pretty amazing how quickly it goes from incomprehensible gibberish to an incredibly efficient conversation.

First time using Vatsim here. When I connect to Vpilot, a jet engine sound starts in the sim, but yet there are no planes around me. So tried it on an empty airport and indeed the jet engine sound is always there as soon as I connect to Vpilot. Is this normal? How do I turn it off?
I note that your drone camera also rolls to the right without any input, mine drives me mad, have to press L and B buttons on xbox controller to level it up !?

Just one doubt, I cleared the vatsim test, but rather than flying i want to be the one of atc, like i want to guide the aircraft only. So what should i do, I just want to be the one of controller for the game
You need to contact the vatsim division for the country you want to control at, they can show you how to sign up for training. Be warned it's alot of work and you will start right at the bottom. Good luck 👍🏻
Hello so when i am getting in the sim and into the game and when i log in with Vpilot all the aircraft dosent macth and has no liveri? What have i done wrong
You need to download liveries and model matching for vatsim. Search for FSLTL on youtube for a guide on how to add those.
This was going so well (and I was following every step exactly) until you opened to your SIM settings, then I went into my own SIM (which is FSX and different from yours and no0where near as detailed) and when I opened FSX it just defauted to the regular game computerised ATC, (which was devastating as Im so desperate to hear Vatsim) what Sim do you use, also do you know how I connect VATSIM with my simulator?
Vpilot works with FSX too. It's all exactly the same procedure. I'm using Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020
Thanks, all sorted-out now, just had another question, the quality/realism of your SIM is a million times better than mine, do you think I need to download the Steam 40th Anniversary version or is it the quality of the PC that is impacting it, I currently have Steam FSX but am unsure of the year, (it just says Steam edition)@@RealSimPilot
@i_loveflying6751 yeah i would upgrade to the new one. FSX is very old. You won't be disappointed

Sometimes voice atis doesn't always work especially in the UK. You can read the ATIS on VPilot when that happens.
@@RealSimPilot i tired a different airport, EGSS, and tried connecting to the ground frquency. I had the same problem. Any ideas?

One thing I noticed is on your vpilot, it says "connected to voice server". Mine does not when i connect.

I got to the part where I would download vpilot. And my firewall is stopping it. How do I turn firewall off and why wont it download
Right click the download, and run as administrator. That seemed to work for me for Vat-Spy, I would think it should work for vpilot

I don't have the list of vatsim server whenever I turn on vpilot. Always set to auto. Please help.
You no longer need to choose your server it will use the best on for you automatically based on your location.

I just can’t understand the words the atc is speaking. It’s so unclear
When I was learning to fly for real, what they gave me was a couple of pages of pronounced of what to expect so when I called the Clarence delivery, they would write out what I was gonna say, and they wrote out what the controller was gonna say back so knowing ahead of time what they were going to say makes it much easier to understand it and then once you get it, it’s easier to understand in general.

For vpilot? Just install it wherever you want. If it's xpilot you need to choose your xplane root directory.
I have no idea if anyone here would know if my friend had x plane 11 and I have x plane 12 if we could make a private server to play together on vatsim
