And this is the part where my comprehension exceeds my composition abilities. This is a perfect example of how I can understand Spanish, but basic sentence construction escapes me personally. I have to practice these to re-program my brain.

It's like that sometimes, but eventually with practice and dedication it gets a lot better. I don't even think of the rules when I talk anymore.
Thanks Rickie. An easy to understand video. Anyone can explain things basically but you explain these language concepts with everyday examples. Perfect

Thank you! I think anyone can learn Spanish if it is explained well enough, so I try to accomplish that. Gracias!
You are a great teacher for real! Please keep making more videos because they are very original and explain things in a way that make a lot of sense to me.

That means so much to me. Thanks!! Definitely more videos on the way.
Thank you Ricky, this video is filled with golden nuggets of information that I have not come across in grammar books to date, and I have been learning Spanish for years!
¡Estupenda lección como siempre! Hay tantos matices como éstos que no se encuentran en ningún libro de texto. Los pronombres neutros, por ejemplo. ¡Gracias mil por compartir!
This is why i keep getting stuck in sentences when im talking...now that I think about it...why in inglés are we accustomed to end sentences on prepositions. Thank you so much for this brother
Hi Rickie, thanks so much for the great videos! I only "discovered" you a couple of days ago, so I've been treating your channel a bit like Netflix LOL! Relative to this video, I got most of each sentence correct except I found that I used the preterite a lot where I see you've used the imperfect. I'm still una principiante, but is the preterite necessarily incorrect in the cases where you used "was" or "were?" Thanks!

Hola! Thanks for checking out the channel. And sorry for the late response. I like to reply to every single comment and I start from the bottom and work my way up lol. And the preterit vs the imperfect depend entirely on the context. I have to do a whole video to explain it to you completely.
What are the different ways to say the word "whose" in spanish? Could you do a lesson on whose? A lot of Spanish teachers in TH-cam tend to shy away from it.
I knew all the spanish but what I didn't know was about the english sentence structure wow I learned something and I'm a native snglish speaker from the uk hahah

Spanish has taught me English many times Crazy right?
I think the question video will be great. I also think maybe a video on like indirect and direct objects in the same sentence? I always get confused with le gustas? Or le gusta? No sé ughhhhhhhh it’s so frustrating;-;. But this vid was great :)

Thanks for this bro. I’d say I have a good vocabulary and Spanish speakers say I sound like a native Puerto Rican. But I have a problem with grammar sometimes 😂.

I was there before and honestly there are some parts of grammar that may become rusty to me. it's all a part of the game. I just review to refresh my memory and then it's all good again. Just study and review frequently. It'll stick eventually.
Many of my students ask me over and over why that can't say certain things a certain way because it would be easier. I tell them to spell "socks" in English. Once I explained what they said 'Eso so que es', they laugh.
If it's hard it may be because you need to work out the fundamentals first. Spanish isn't difficult to learn if you take it step by step, but if you're all over the place, you'll be confused.
😬1/9 correct if this is a correct answer: ¿A qué hora vas a dormir? Right now, I really feel sorry for all my 🇨🇴🇲🇽🇩🇴🇨🇷🇪🇸 language exchange partners. No wonder this emoji 🤔is a common reply. Lol 🤣😂.

Debes escribir a través en vez de a travéz
I hope I'm not the only one that has had zillions of Spanish classes that didn't do well.
This is hard AF
