My theory of how it all was made is more an example, this game called *worldbox* has this system where you make a race and a land and can make anything good or bad, just like the aedra kinda but more than to give, theres more than half of the elements as destruction, the daedra are the destruction of aedra's creation. The aedra are like our gods. They dont do much because they cant intervene now, they used all they were to make us, or that's a theory of all religions? But i see daedra as eldritch gods, they are beyond us and always will be, we cant understand them but we can worship them to get things that no other can give.. In 31 of the book Second Seed 2920, the writer describes an altercation with a woman named Turala with an Ayleid who is told to have been naked and living in the forest. He struggled with her, causing her to lose consciousness. Afterwards he had vanished having apparently helped her birth her child. It’s very interesting to think about this interaction so late in the timeline and their connection to the term “Wild Elves”.
I was thinking about alternate Elder Scrolls history and continuing with my current idea of what if there was no empire? Led me to have to consider what if the Ayleids never died?
I could see an interesting dynamic between them, the Chimer, and the Dwemer if such were the case. Likely a coalition against the Nords, as we saw with the Dwemer and Chimer, or the coalition of the two against the third
It’s honestly a really fascinating idea. Every time I talk it out I have to start all over when I learn Ayleids were in places I did not think they were in. It began as what if there was no empire but I realized I had to go back further and the question turned into what if no Ayleids. To make it juicer though, the question currently is What if Alessian rebellion failed?

Good discussion! I'm thinking about the transformational power of the White-Gold Tower, maybe it's some form of advanced Alteration? It was allegedly built by the Ayleids, who were the founders (and probably Masters) of Alteration. As plausible as the Talos theory is, I think there's definitely a possibility that the Ayleids built the tower specifically for transformational purposes, and it would explain why ONLY that Tower does it while none of the others do. Interesting stuff! Speaking of which, maybe you guys can do an episode talking about how magic works, and why the different schools of magic are divided in specific ways, and how that's changed over time.
I love that you guys talked about this, when I was younger and playing oblivion I never understood or cared about the Ayleids, and I haven’t really heard anyone talk about them until now! Very interesting. You guys should definitely keep digging into that deep lore that a lot of people seem to skip over, even the less interesting stuff is made interesting by you guys. Especially in a podcast setting, something about the longer, natural, conversation you guys seem to have about this stuff makes all the little pieces of lore (especially the parts from further back in the series) connect together for me. Thank you guys!

I agree but would like to point out that there’s a possibility of the heartland high elves kicking around alive somewhere, there’s still a snow elf alive and well in Skyrim, and before the dB dlc we all thought they were literally killed off or turned into the blinded and betrayed, and we also meet Falion who says to us that he’s spoken with the dwemer who we also believed to have disappeared, not saying they are still around but I feel they could make a return someday, honestly if any of the lost races returned I’d want it to be the snow elves, they really did get royally screwed
Aylieds and Dwemer definitely fit this Vibe, lol! Although to be fair, most of the Mer races are the same way, far more skilled, adaptable, advanced than most other races.

The dungeons in Morrowind had places to sleep. Even the dwemer ruins had bedrooms and bed frames sometimes, so it's not a dungeon design issue, it's just an issue.
Dwemer ruins are much more preserved in general due to the tonal enchantments the Dwemer used, plus the fact that Ayleids left earlier. But to be honest, neither should have usable beds unless they were set up recently by squatters/bandits.

I feel like these guys should be made into NPCs in the next game. Like, just 3 scholar adventurer sorts that randomly spawn in at locations of interests arguing the history of the locations. It’d be funny
There are so many RPGs that use the Lost Ancient Knowledge / World Regression trope .. The *Fallout* Series is the most "in your face" with it but there are SO many other games too .. From *Shining Force* to *Legend of the Dragoon* to *Elder Scrolls* , it's pretty crazy how often it's really used
I would love a pelinal podcast as he is IMO the coolest character in TES lore but i don't think there is that much to talk to fill an entire podcast, so maybe a cool idea would be one about important NPCs, like Pelinal, Vivec or the whole tribunal, Ulfric, lucian lachance and others. And maybe one about the antagonists of the series, from jagar to miraak, jagar oftenly gets overlooked for being on an older game and not trying to destroy the universe, but he actually got control of tamriel for 10 years, none other game antagonist in TES did that, I think he's pretty cool.
Not gonna lie I watched a bunch of Fudgemuppet before I realized there were three of them 🤣

The Imperial city was built by the Ayleids, and it has a huge sewer system. The real question is do any of the Imperial-built cities have plumbing?
"Fudgemuppet is always better when paired with a cup of coffee in the morning." 👌
Drews the ultimate Nord love it :) loving this series and learning a lot and i just enjoy Nerding out, great job im home now so i can relax grab some mead, and chill out for the next hour and maybe roam around Skyrim too :) thank you
I'm getting strapped in for a whole load of geek-ness
Aaaand you just gave Kirkbride a new idea. "In the merethic era, there was an ancient empire of EYELIDS!".
From *Shining Force* to *Legend of the Dragoon* to *Elder Scrolls* , it's pretty crazy how often it's really used
Nice one been loving these
I would love a pelinal podcast as he is IMO the coolest character in TES lore but i don't think there is that much to talk to fill an entire podcast, so maybe a cool idea would be one about important NPCs, like Pelinal, Vivec or the whole tribunal, Ulfric, lucian lachance and others. And maybe one about the antagonists of the series, from jagar to miraak, jagar oftenly gets overlooked for being on an older game and not trying to destroy the universe, but he actually got control of tamriel for 10 years, none other game antagonist in TES did that, I think he's pretty cool.
Love watching the channel and work keep it up 😁👍🏼
On the note of the subjective: which characters do you each love yet think are underrepresented and need a lot more attention in the lore?
Heres something to ponder. Alyied vs Dwemer. Both had powerful civilizations. It would be interesting to see who would win between the two.
Drew is my favorite
Absolutely brilliant podcast for all Eder scrolls fans out there great work lads 👍
