The Tamagotchi On is the first English Tamagotchi released in years (not to mention the first English, full color, backlit Tamagotchi ever)! It's also practically identical to the Tamagotchi Meets, the Japanese version. They're both $60, but did we really get the same thing? This daily diary series aims to answer that!

They’re really fun once you get the hang of them & the English is pretty much identical to the Japanese version, only real differences are that the bugs and glitches in the Meets have been patched in the ON thankfully.

I just got this for my birthday after two decades of when they first ever came out. The first time they came out, they were stolen twice and I was never able to play with them. And I'm like so in love with this series. I loved your video was entertaining 😂😂😂

Is it TRUE that the Tamagotchi On (USA) you can not send/receive GIFTS when connecting to another device?!? Only the Tamagotchi Meets (Japan) you can? I heard somewhere the On you can MARRY but not GIFT and the Meets you can GIFT but not MARRY...has anyone tested this out??
i just want to say I love the yellow border around your video because it fits PERFECTLY with my firefox theme. Also great video, I was getting one of these and wanting to know if there was any difference.
Those tamagotchi screens remind me of old Game boy advance SP with backlit screens. Bit weird with the triple A batteries though. Wonder how long the batteries last.

I'm not saying that you convinced me to get one, but I am saying my Tamagotchi On is coming in the mail....and I've been watching the postal tracker every chance I get and its said "IN TRANSIT" for five frigging days 😰
Wait until you try and open the Japanese Tamagotchi!! Way tougher! They really just don't want anyone to have fun! LoL 👅 packaging is alot easy with the on.
Were you able to spot the grainy print on the On? Different from the pristine and perfect print on the Meets’ shell
I have my first tamagotchi when I was like in grade school and I just recently nose dive with Tamagotchi again after lurking in TH-cam and reddit. I got the Pix first then I got the On Magic and then gave in and bought more Japanese Tamagotchi (and recently bought a Smart), I noticed that the Japan Tama version have a slightly warmer screen (or it's just me and my eyes) and the screen is more prone to scratching. I remember rubbing off a speck of dirt as soon as I open a Sweets Meet version and the scratches already shown after just rubbing tiny dirt off. 😅

The difference is not just in the screen. In the west we have these rules and regulations which made it have to have a screw in the back.. annoying imo. Then what's even worse: somehow most of the english On's have ripples in the paper that's underneath the front piece. I have never ever seen this on the Japanese Meets and I own all versions of it.
