Bjørn, you are THE authority, when it comes to EVs. If it wasn't for you back then more then 10 years ago when you bought Millennium Falcon, I would have never gotten into EVs .. and drowned a buch of people into it alongside ;). Don't let yourself be dragged down by some jealous idiots. I've watched & enjoyed almost every single video of yours for the past 10+ years. Stay true to your self - the income and reward will come! .. A random German fan

@@Matthias_Fischer With people like @Matthias_Fischer we would still have no car headrests, no seat belts, no halogen headlights, no ABS system, no emissions control and much more. This is all standard today and can no longer be imagined without it. The negative opinions and nonsensical discussions from back then no longer interest anyone today. Those who are forever old don't realize that they have long since been overtaken by modern EV technology. Even if people don't believe it - don't want to... Nobody knows this better than Björn Nyland.

2013, that was the time I started watching your channel. I was impressed in two ways. The beautiful Norwegian landscape, escially in winter. And the Model S which was like a car from another star. It really was a nice time. You mentioned another guy your videos back than: Jorgen Winter Larsen. Why was this lost over the years? It would be really nice to see him again with you.

    Hey Bjorn,
I really enjoyed hearing your "becoming TeslaBjorn" story. I mostly watch and listen to your videos and 4K podcasts during my daily commute from Aachen (Germany) to Heerlen (the Netherlands), which is about a 15-minute drive. I've been doing this for three years with my Tesla Model 3.
It's such a nice detail that it feels like you're my copilot on my daily route to work. 😍☺️ Thank you for making the videos you do-they were also a big inspiration for me to buy my Tesla in 2021.

The first TeslsBjorn video I watched was the winter Offroad drive where you damaged Optimus Prime. I am a keen Offroad driver with various Land Rovers and Range Rovers over the years and I searched TH-cam for off-roading in an EV as I want a proper electric off-roader. Watching your EV testing persuaded me to venture into a full BEV in 2021 after a poor experience with a PHEV. I bought a Mini Cooper S E that really suited me for 99% of my motoring and meant I wasn’t going shopping in town in a big diesel 4x4 off roader. Now I’m on my 2nd EV that has enough range to do decent length road trips - the new Mini Countryman S E Sport and it’s now relegated the Defender to being a driveway queen! The 65kWh battery is actually way bigger than I require for my normal driving but it’s great to have the capability to make a 230 mile journey if I want without using a big huge 4x4.
I watch most (not all) of your videos - even the ones that don’t get many views! I do prefer the driving videos to your family videos that I have to admit that don’t often watch. Keep up the great work.

The curse of our hobbies 🤣. I'm very similar where I'd play video games, buy electronics and now cars that devalue at huge rate.
People saying your wife "doesn't work" simply don't understand. Taking good care of children is a full time job in itself. UK actually counts pension credit for one full time mother/father until child is 16 years old.
In my view, your consistent independence and your knowledge in EV's are hugely useful for everyone. What is life without taking calculated risks, and sounds like you've pulled through all previous risks through hard work and dedication. Please do keep going. 👍

If you examined the expenses of all of the viewers of this video, I think you'd find that everyone spends their money on frivolous stuff at times. If all you do is pay the bills, life is boring. Sometimes you've got to blow a bunch of money on something silly because it brings you some happiness. After all, you can't take it with you at the end.
Anyway, I don't necessarily agree with how Bjorn spends his money, but then again - it's his money. He can spend it however he wants.

I took a job 150 km from my place and decided to stay where I am. Multiple reasons but I decided to burn up vehicles and mitigate as I could even though a physical presence is necessary most of the time for my job. I've settled on 3 days a week but that means about 50,000 km on some vehicle per year. I've gone through a couple vehicles over the last decade doing this but recently decided to buy an EV just to have some fun and save some life for my utility acreage fossil vehicle. These decisions and circumstances are complicated and personal and I think it is best when you can mix work and pleasure at least some of the time. I am having fun with my EV burning it up on my commute. I got 'Car Scanner' to go with a FOB to learn what took a lifetime with a fossil car in months with my EV, thanks to you really. I really love Valdemar's Garage and getting a glimpse into what the EV ecosystem will look like here in 10 years. Keep up the good work and stay awesome!!! You are a ray of light in my fossil bubble ... yeah, my utility vehicle does 'roll coal' on a quick take off once in a while ... lol. But on average ...

It must be much better she take job than your way to selling a part of your channel/brand because after that you are not free anymore and you will be like employee like you was running away from before. Someone else will be your boss now and remember that.
If you want the dream house then you have to work for it both you and wife together.

Ah Bjørn, I've watched and been subscribed to you since I discovered TH-cam and began my investigations into EVs and renewables.
I grew up before computers so hearing about your work was interesting but had you been speaking in Norwegian, Thai or even German as a Brit I would have understood as much! 😅
Your range test videos in particular helped give me the confidence and understanding to get our first EV, people around here were almost as critical of that as folk have been about your pool! Haha😂
As you can tell I'm quite old and my partner and I chose the safe life and rarely went anywhere, also my ill-health prevented that too, but we were never brave enough to take the risky option.
I suspect a lot of your critics (I am not one) have done this same but they think they've been patient and will reap the benefits later, which may be true. But you have chosen to live a full life while you're young enough to enjoy it and that is good, you've worked hard and are still working hard to give your family the very best you can. Good luck to you, you deserve it.👍💚
A question: I became fascinated by those fields with what looked at first like sheep but on further viewing were large white cylinders, possibly raised up on legs...what on earth are they? Please does anyone know, I'm bursting with curiosity!

    🏆Thankyou for sharing🏆
I've learned so much tech stuff from your vids, & have enjoyed your 1K challenges.
I've often been in awe of how hard working you are.
Everyone has their own luxury items or ways of self-rewards.
No-one should criticise another for their choices.
    Freedom of choice.
To the haters.......my Grandma used to say, "If ya don't have anything nice to say then STFU" 😍

Thank you for sharing. Just ignore the pool haters, I’d love a pool in my garden. Just have fun, organize a pool party sometime.

Hej @bjornnyland, I have sent you a message via Patreon and Facebook. Since it is a bit personal, I did not want to post it here. Thanks when you have the time to read it 👍

Keep on Bjørn! If you do not take any risk - you wont gain anything! Your new mansion will be worth 25 mill NOK in 10 years from now. Speaking from my own experience - houses in the long run will grow in value far more than inflation. The "pause" in 2023-2024 in property prices is only a little bump in the long run. In Norway there is fifty thousand new people to live here every year. They all need a place to live. Nothing to worry about in the long run. Love your channel.

Speaking of pools... Some quick math says they actually store less energy tham batteries, which makes batteries look amazing.
    4200J/kg per K , heat it up from 7C to 27C, that's only 23wh/kg lol

But the advantage here is that I have 44,000 l of water.

Bro has almost 1 MWh at 20K temp difference. The challenge is to extract the heat at such low temp difference.
