    One thing I noticed going on the last 4 or 5 years is that every one wants to throw hard and they are forgetting about having good mechanics, what you guys think about that

    • @awxy8206
      @awxy8206 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I think most guys that are throwing 95+ have really good mechanics, its pretty hard to not have good mechanics and throw that hard

    • @pauljaneczko4527
      @pauljaneczko4527 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea I’m order to throw hard you need good mechanics. For me when I cleaned up my mechanics I started throwing harder almost instantly. Strength is important for throwing hard but mechanics are even more important

      @@pauljaneczko4527 this is not true at all...strength is more important

    Hi Trevor, good video on the topic of developing youth talent. I have some questions related to youth development. Today's game requires lot of power and size. Do you see shorter pitchers in stature making an impact in today's game like Altuve has done for hitting? Do you see a concern with young players doing your program in correlation to their longevity in the game?

    Late bloomer here. Wanted to ask what I need do to work on plate vision and fielding, as those are major weaknesses for me. I am in shape, I’m currently playing football till our final game next week.

    • @biscuitboy8821

      For fielding, in my case, it was finding the right mechanics and just repetition. Just go to a field and have someone hit balls to you(pop ups or grounders) For plate vision, I don’t know how to help that, but in games you could be more patient and only swing when it is a 2 strikes and it’s close to the plate or when it’s in your zone

    • @lukerogoff1677
      @lukerogoff1677 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I’m not sure what you mean about plate vision. It may be you needing a prescription, but minimal head movement when the pitch is coming will make seeing the ball better

    • @biscuitboy8821
      @biscuitboy8821 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@lukerogoff1677 I think he’s talking about deciding if the pitch is a ball or strike when it comes out of the pitchers hand

      Thanks y’all! Only played baseball once and that was years ago. One hoppers are giving me hell, so I think getting my sis to throw some grounders at me once football cools down. By plate vision I mean seeing the ball. I have a habit of swinging at balls later than I should, and just looking at the ball out of the corner of my eye instead of turning my head like I should. I think repetition can help as long as I’m practicing more. Thanks again!

      @@biscuitboy8821 like the fielding but swing first pitch you’ll hear it a lot usually the best pitch you’ll see. The best hitters are aggressive early and more conservative behind in the counts

    So, if a highschool player is looking to workout during the summer, would it be best to buy a baseball training program (for instance the overtime athletes program), or working with a trainer?
