I really appreciate your video. I will admit, most of my information is a circulation of more right leaning political viewpoints. It was refreshing to hear another viewpoint. I voted Trump this last election cycle. He was not my first pick. Vivek was who I wanted. My political score is mid right, mid liberal. I'm a solid Libertarian, through and through. I voted for Trump because I believe that the federal government, and large corporations plauged with corruption using the government as a sheild, are far too strong armed against many aspects of the lives of American citizens. You are correct in saying emotion was involved. I am frustrated. Covid was a turning point for me. My anti-intellectual feelings came from a realization that all people in government, large corporations, and scientific pursuits are just that. They are people. We are all fallible, and when it comes down to it, the world is you or me. Bribes, handshake deals, and quid pro quo run deep and will never be eliminated. Centralized organizations will never be able to fully look out for the little guy. Freedom over safety for myself is one core principle I hold. That is the base reasoning behind my Libertarian ideals. I am most likely under informed on the risk of civil rights being stripped. However, my current understanding is that there is an over emphasis on this point. I felt comfortable voting for Trump as a gay man who is mixed White and Hispanic in a deep red state. I try my best to keep an open mind, and would love to have a civil conversation with you. I will try to check for responses. Sorry for the long post, and thank you for your time.
I love it. ❤ Thank you for sharing this! If you're looking to start doing video intro/sneak peek at the first 30 seconds... I love this part. Like if people only see 30 seconds I think this is super important for them to hear you say. Around minute 16 in the original video. "Academics do matter. Artists are going to matter even more in this time, because they are going to be able to reflect our stories. They reflect our pain. They are the emotional appeal we need in order to sustain as a black community. Right?! Social progression matters! This is how Feminism rises. Ensuring Trans folks, Non-binary folks are also being taken care of. Black people being taken care of. This idea of belonging is happening for all people. That they're all being taken care of. That the rejection of intellectualism is the desire to return to the status quo. That you'll be able to aspire to what Trump represents." Marquise Davon Productions

I'm not surprised at this, even as a kid I experienced hostility toward the slightest sign of intellect in my speech or behavior.
