But there's Verstappen creeping up behind Alonso. A young Dutchman and the old spanish champ. OMG Hamilton side by side with the German driver! HE DONE IT!! Hamilton takes Schumacher's ole position! But wait! the Dutch man will take Alonso's podium. Rosberg is still on Button's tail. Rosberg is going for the inside and side by side with Button. The German equal machinery rival takes Button away the position. Final lap Verstappen simply took Alonso away from the podium. Alonso would be sad to know that he didn't get the podium finishes. Honestly surprised the W11 won by as much as it did. I know it was an absolute beast at cornering, but at a speed circuit like Monza I figured it may be closer with the f2004. Dream scenario that would hope to happen in real life though.

the hybrid system on new cars would only let them keep up to the v10s for a few laps, the early 2000s cars were monsters, barrichello still holds the race lap record at monza with a 1.21.046, lewis in the 2020 merc did a 1:22.746 and in 2023 the fastest lap was oscar piastri with a 1:25.072, i remember when alonso took his renault r25 out in abu dhabi he said that the cars nowardays have a lot of artificial speed, referring to the drs and ers that are used differently in quali than in the actual race
@@Nichaansama yeah but thats also because the tyres today are bigger and slick providing way more grip, friction and heat so the drivers have to manage them more but i can guarantee that a modern tyre being managed provides way more grip than an old one being pushed to the limit
