Hashtag United are a one-of-a-kind football and esports club, based in Essex, England. Formed in 2016 by Spencer Owen as a group of mates playing exhibition games, we now play in the 7th tier of English football, the Isthmian League Premier Division. We won our league in our first season in non-league football and were looking good for a second promotion when the 2019/20 season was voided, but after the 2020/21 season went the same way with us top of the Essex Senior League, we were eventually awarded promotion based on PPG over the two part seasons. In 2023 we won the Isthmian League North and will now play in the Isthmian Premier!
We merged with AFC Basildon Women in summer 2020 and formed our women's team, Hashtag United FC Women, who play in the 3rd tier of women's football, the FA Women's National League Southern Premier Division, after they also won their league in 2023. We also now have 40+ youth teams, reserve and development teams, an inclusive team and a walking football team...plus our esports team who play FIFA at the world's highest level. I love that Spencer explained the algorithm thing! Very transparent, if only everybody would act in such a manner... Keep up the good work and up the tags
Respectfully, sod the algorithm. The style of your videos and the front row seat you provide to what goes on in the back end is one of the main reasons I continue to support Hashtag. It’s how a lot of your fans connect with the club and the players. If I wanted to watch a 15 min clip of non-league football, there’s plenty of channels out there that provide that. Don’t take away what’s made you such a unique and special club to support.
Theres still the post match videos on the extra channel and the members only content like full games. If they want to continue getting new fans (which they obviously do) then they'll need to please the algorithm
This. What they posted for the first league game is essentially just an extended highlights package which multiple other non-league teams do.

I know funds are tight at this level but Canvey must have spent all of £47 on their pitch over the summer. Also not often you see a winger crossing a ball from below the horizon.
Costs a lot more to up keep a grass pitch then lay an artificial.

I’ve been saying it, you just gotta watch every goal we concede now it’s almost like Harry Haysom has forgot how to defend, he goes on to crash with Matty to leave his player wide open for the header

The strong goalkeeping from Giddens is what kept the tags in this one late. Love to see the confidence he has catching/punching crosses.
Bettter performance then Saturday. Adding the extra half time dressing room clip is good to hear the players take on the half before Devs starts
Foxley, Ayo and Gordon are some proper new signings!
Ayo is a class edition. His first thought is to always progress the ball forward and he does it with such quality.

It's been a hot minute since we had a match this exciting. Absolutely brilliant! I'm loving everything about this team right now, such amazing complementary signings as well! The way they link up on front is amazing and we finally have an amazing rock in the goal as well!
On another note, loved having Ellis on the comms, sounds like he's done this for years on end. Also like the transparency by Spen but more content = better for me personally. If you put something out, I will watch it. Even if it's just some extra videos on the extra channel.

For everyone’s sake, I say keep videos how they are and post an alternate extended scenes for the fans that want to see it. Keeps everyone happy and keeps the main action within the algorithm
Three things - 1) Better energy today, but iI think Toby is the difference up front in these games - alongside Nathan he makes so so so many unselfish runs. No coincidence our midfielders get the goals when Toby opens up the defenders for central runners to have space and time to shoot
2) Camillo looking like a 11 a side baller, awesome decision making he looks quality.
3) Dev's JR is a class commentator!

Don’t like the new videos, nowhere near enough especially at the end, cutting it off makes it look like bad editing and like amateur vids. Miss the pre match on the pitch with the players and miss the post match being in the main video. I’d even like to see some post match analysis

Foxley could go down as one of the best passers and maybe players to ever play for hashtag and Ellis has a future on commentary after his playing days.
Camilo looking like a proper baller, always turning and running at the defense, being aggressive and skillful, but his decision making seems to be improving too. Up the TAGS!!!

I don’t really mind these videos, at the end of the day I watch to see how the boys did in the game. Def miss some of the footage fr before the game starts but if ending it right after the final whistle makes a huge difference financially from these videos, then it’s the right one to make

The half time part of the video in the lockers were good and its cool to see how the players react between halfs and the coaches too. Good game otherwise I hope soon the games wont be so exiciting at the end

Recommendation for the hashtag boys (as a long time subscriber!).
Totally get the bending to the algorithm thinking but one look at the comments and you will see how true fans feel.
I’d recommend watching a presentation given by the CEO of Patreon, Jack Conte at SXSW conference this year. It talks about how bending your craft to fit an algorithm only punishes everyone in the long run. Make art and content the way you want it, unapologetically.
Hope you go back to the previous ways and perhaps like some people suggest, add in things like a post match analysis could even be fun!

Personally I definitely prefer having the old edits, it’s actually how I got into the algorithm last year, and now im watching every video, postmatch, as well as the long form season p/reviews and TST. Strange that the algorithm tells that, but if it matters, I feel much more of a connection to the club when I see more of the character of the players and staff on the pitch.
As strange as that sounds coming from an online watcher, seeing things like the fans or a canna throwback, it makes me more curious about the history of the club and now im even in a FM save with hashtag. Core audience retention is more important than algorithm optimization imo. I’d go with your gut spen

Good win, Ayo looks like a much-needed muscle in the middle of the pitch, which by the way, was horrendous.
Toby continues to be amazing for the team, but it feels we need Luke May-Parrot a lot, no actual scoring from our forwards.

09:20, it doesn't matter if he meant it or not, can't just stop a goal scoring oppertunity and go oh well he didnt mean it. He didn't get sent off cus Toby was going to the side and the ball was also getting away from him a bit, as well as there being another defender fairly close. Also I'm not saying whether it was a goal scoring opertunity and thus a red or not, just the reason as to why the reff decided to do as he did.

I'll be very surprised if we aren't competing for a promotion this year. Really quality additions. Ayo, Foxley, Quba, Gidds, all looked great first two games. Very excited to see Higgo's debut Saturday.
The “red” doesn’t meet the dogso criteria, balls moving away and not towards the goal. Yellow is correct for stopping a promising attack
