I think it is very sad that Metro Radio has axed Night Owls. What research did Metro Radio do prior to taking Night Owls off the air? just to replace it with more ubiquitous cheap noise. Night owls was a community who looked after each other. I will not be listening to Metro Radio anymore.
The avengelist at 1:02 mentioned there were two kingdoms, Dark and Light, he missed Leather! I used to love listening to Night Owls, I'd tune in from 23:00 (I think when it started) back in the late 80's.
Alan you tube is a great platform to keep going was nearly in tears last nite can’t wait for you guys to get back on it if i was a millionaire I’d buy you the studio hopefully this is a way to get on to bigger and better things as technology is taking over and there’s plenty of ways to get the nite owls out there all the best for the future and can’t wait to hear from you guys love Steven from Berwick
Alan Robson should just make his own TH-cam channel.. not listening to metro any more, I’ve noticed even Steve and Karen talking less in favour of the same tunes..over and over.. Alan Robson created a little community long before social media
Yep, me too. When I was 15 (1992) I moved to North Shields... right next to the Ridges after the riot. I used to fall asleep listening to Night Owls on my walkman without my parents knowing. Over the years though this show went downhill. In the end it was always the same list of callers, complaining about the level of care or benefits they receive. Advertisers aren't going to pay for a show where the listeners can't afford to buy their products.
Alan I lived on the eighth floor of Redheugh Court in the Teams at Dunston, I didn't have any furniture just a camp bed, sitting on the camp bed someone walked past my sitting room window remembering I was on the eighth floor.
