According to his uncle (he replied on a video [Vincent Huening->TH-cam account) of Huening Kai when he was younger] that Kai was born in the US and is *half-korean and half-american* his American half is a mix of European ancestors- mostly German, some English, some polish and Scottish. *Kai can speak English, Korean and Mandarin* . Only his dad, Stepmom, paternal grandparents can speak Portuguese.
His dad was born in Brazil, but was raised in the US until he moved to China when he was a teenager where he became an actor and singer.
