He has been on the ground since the early days of the UFC and saw it through its many highs and low with the Fertitta Borthers and has been there for the careers of so many MMA greats and legends. So as we thankfully got to see, the impact of Conor McGregor was fantastic and if he really is gone this time, it's a really bittersweet goodbye. Sure new stars will come and excite the fans but Dana will only have fond memories of the crazy nights when the arena would pop and roar with jubilation over another McGregor fight/win. I'm bummed too. 😔 I hope he pops out of retirement for a fight or two but otherwise, I'm glad he can ride into the sunset smiling.

Smaller cage makes a HUUGGEEE difference. Even my 70 year old mom who just started watching UFC 2 years ago, noticed it was a 25 foot cage, and commented on how much it's impacting fight styles. As an octogan, approximated as a circle, the relative square footage is 625 sq. ft. vs 900 sq. ft. The 30 foot cage has 50% more surface area than the 25 foot cage.
I'm sure Dana has the best statisticians on payroll :rolleyes:, but I doubt they set up a proper data set to account for all the bias and differences between each fight card and era. I'd love to see their Dana White is double blind study.
Actually area of a 25 feet octagon is around 442 sq feet and a 30 feet octagon a 636 sq feet. Still a 50% increase but since it's an octagon not a square the math was off.

But for fighters it is a blessing or curse varying from fighter to fighter.
For eg- it's beneficial for the likes of Khabib, Stipe, DC, Jones.

They aren’t asking for more money. They’re asking for a fair percentage. Every other sport on the world athletes receive 50% of revenue generated. UFC only pays their athletes 18% of revenue. There’s no excuse for it. I don’t know why fans aren’t understanding these fighters point.

Lol Lol I just really don’t get what people aren’t understanding. Jon Jones isn’t just saying “I want Wilder money” because he just wants more money. He wants Wilder money because he does bigger numbers than Wilder but doesn’t get as much % of revenue as Wilder. Wilder sold 850,000 ppv against Fury in their rematch and made 30 million. Jon Jones sold 860,000 ppv against DC and didn’t even make 10 million. Just for context Wilder made 13 million to fight Brezeale on free tv which topped out at 900,000 viewers on free tv which is horrendous. Wilder also made close to 20 million in his rematch with Ortiz which sold less than 300,000 ppv. All I see is people saying “there’s no live gate” but guess what? Fighters don’t get any share on live gate anyway so that has nothing to do with their pay. The money is there for the fighters but the ufc is taking it all. If fighters were receiving 50/50 revenue split like boxers and other athletes guys like Jon, Israel, DC, Jorge, and Nate would be doing 30-60 million a fight. And a guy like Conor would be doing 80-100 million a fight easy. Conor has sold 6 straight 1 million ppv buy shows. Those are prime Floyd numbers when Floyd was making 80-100 mil per fight.

The reason you should "see why" Valentina should fight Nunes is that shes the only fighter with a skillset that can compete with Nunes. I think everyone has seen enough of Nunes making fights look like technical demonstrations in a martial arts class. It's a VERY good trilogy fight to make especially since Nunes took two close ( even arguable) decisions in those fights. Not saying Nunes isnt the GOAT but if you want to see her actually challenged theres only one woman for the job.
