  • Rlaarlo offering of the 1/12 scale rc buggy am-D12 is incredible and an amazing value but today we are swapping out tires. The 1/16th tires fit perfectly on this 1/12 scale buggy and I really think its going to do well on some of our bashing sessions. With liter tires, 3s lipo batteries, its going to fly! Subscribe to our channel, checkout the playlist, watch the entire vid so you can do the same thing to your AM-D12 RC buggy. Stay tuned for the finished tire swap but for now leave your comments down below in the comment section if I should keep the factory tires or swap them out with 1/16th scale tires. Please like, share, comment, thumbs up and smash that notification bell so you will be the first to view all new content we drop each day for you. Thanks for watching and subscribing to our channel.

Be interested to see how this pans out but I reckon its best on the current tires due to the ground clearance.

I wouldn't recommend running the smaller up front only.
The smaller tires will make it slower(but torque-ier)on 2s, but on 3s it will HELP make the buggy easier to drive by making it more stable and planted. I'm running a similar setup now for street bashing.

Wouldn't one inherently use the slipper clutch continuously when running different size tires front and back? I just ordered the am d12 and cant wait to use it for beach bashing (spotted sealed bearings locally) and putting some paddle tires on it. So these paddle tires are the way to go in terms of size?

@@insanebmxthomas the slipper clutch is not like a differential. It doesn't allow the front and rear to spin at different rates. Running different sizes tires f/r will m
Eventually ruin the diff ring/pinion gears.
If you want smaller tires on the front, disconnect the front axle and run it RWD.

I was hoping you put bigger not smaller

My opinion, the 1/16th scale is a mistake, at least all around the car. The smaller tires will work your motor harder and slow the car down as well. That being said, they also look too small on the car. At the end of the day though, it is your car and if it works for you, well, that's what matters and it wouldn't be the first time I went the "not recommended" route. Have fun.

All the experts say larger tires work the motor harder because they effectively change the gearing, they do look better which is subjective, the car may bottom out easier though.
