Two convicted murderers bundled up clothes in their beds, then escaped from their upstate New York maximum security prison cells through catwalks and tunnels, officials said.
As a result of the deception, Richard Matt and David Sweat were accounted for during a morning bed check at the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, about 20 miles south of the Canadian border, said New York State police.

Where I live if you walk into my back yard through the fields it’s brings you right to a maximum security prison and another one right across the street that’s minimum security I think is what it’s called. Kind of scary. But there’s only been one person that’s escaped from there. And it was years ago.

No commissary, all underground, rotating shower that comes and goes to each cell, no mail to hold on to (mail is opened and put on a projection screen to your room with a small time to read each letter), zero sun, no TV, basically nothing. Worse than Pelican Bay.
when I was in a mis jail there were men going through the heater vents inside their cell to the women's side and that led into women's cells. they'd have sex and then men climbed back up. they never did get caught. I heard it was 2 men only doing it and always went to the same women.

OK... now why would they lie? you have a roommate in your cell. the guards only glance in your room twice a night on lock down... at night when suppose to sleep however they don't care if you're up all night. meanwhile a prisoner is cleaning our pod for 4 hours to make like $2-4 a day. a guard never checks cells with the one cleaning. in fact the cleaner would give us a lighter to smoke in our cells sliding under our door and we'd slide it back. the guards always left 2 lighters for smokers in the pod. we never got caught smoking because we knew the guards routine. every cell has a large vent that can easily be unscrewed judging upon ours. you do realise not everybody makes sounds during sex, right??? anyways... there's an open 4 hour window. this isn't a federal state prison. felons were kept in other side during court eras or if federal prison was maxed.
for a guard to see inside your cell they must walk up to your door because there is only a small window to see in.
nodody narks there or else your ass may be kicked. why nark on that??? if they came to our cell then I would definitely told the guards and would tell my roommate I won't allow it. luckily she wasn't interested in sex with them.

its a long story why I got sent there but was due to too many traffic tickets.
I actually had a lot of fun while I was in there. I know that sounds unreal but it wasn't that bad. I have many stories to tell. but the day I had enough of it... I actually said to god... I've had enough. minutes later my roommate ran to our cell and said I have an early release. I walked out and guard said its true. I was stuck in there without a bail option because was during election era.

we had a TV, ping pong table, games and cards to play and 1 hour gym time to play sports or workout.
the men are asked if gay... if yes then they are sent to the gay pod. but this is that jail center. once again... this is a city county jail... not a prison.

I swear to God, if I were to ever escape..I would plan an escape where I picked up a another identity and crossed the border down south and in about a week I was in some village in Costa Rica somewhere in the mountains. You'll never see me again in your life.

Chuwy389 Yes. With what money? Hard to collect it when currency isn't used in prison. Even down south you'll still need a passport and money. I've pondered that too if I ever had to get out of Dodge with no trace. Not easy. Even boats are inspected at ports. Not easy.

I lived fairly close to that prison, man was it terrifying when they got out. I haven’t watched this fully yet, but I believe they were found by a bounty hunter in the woods. One was killed, and the other severely injured. I believe the one who survived, is now in prison again.

+magicaIpineapple actually some are. There was an escape from a county jail that was used to farm out felons from a prison system about 7 years ago in my state. One of the escapees stab a person in the face and stole his car. When you have life to do, many will do anything to stay out of prison.
