Sea planes are fun... I grew up in the business and my dad was a Cessna and Piper dealer in Washington State. We had a Grumman Widgeon that we flew back and forth to our lake cabin daily during the summer. What a Great aircraft.

I've been thinking about getting my seaplane addon. My dad too. I think this video will push us over the edge and get it done this year.

I live in New Hampshire. We have lots of lakes and rivers and mountains. Maine is very close with many lakes also. My ASES gives me a Lot of options to land should I have an issue. Another cool thing is flying 500 ft or so above the ground and seeing the world below you. Finally, I get buzz from landing on a lake full of boats and grabbing lunch somewhere… the look on people’s faces is priceless…

World Famous Jamie Beckett has got me wanted to get a STC to put floats on my Cherokee 6!!!! HAHAHA This series does have me thinking about my choices in add-ons to improve my skills as a pilot.

In 1984 I flew to Lakeland and flew a J-3 on floats. It had no starter and the flight instructor had to hand prop the engine I was sitting in the front seat and the water conditions were glassy calm which he warned me about. I don’t remember that we did any classroom time. It was just a 30 minute flight. Quite an experience!

This video was made March 22 2022. On March 8th 2023 a Jack Brown floatplane crashed into Cherokee that was landing at Winter Haven airport. Very sad.
Considering Jack Browns has been instructing since the 1960s, it seems extremely negligent to me for them not to have and moniter a handheld through their intercom.
Especially when I’m the vicinity of Winter Haven or other high traffic areas/times.

Kind of an interesting video but I didn't make it to the nine minute mark because if the flip flopping of the image. It became far too distracting to continue.

Sorry. Really good information but I found the editing to be very disturbing and distracting.
Please don't flip the image in post to give the impression that you're doing a two-camera shoot. Not only is the text on shirts and books mirrored but the talent switch sides, which makes it look like you're crossing the line of sight.
