Don't forget to try out using Hit Em Up App at www.hitemupapp.com/get to send personalized texts and manage your contact lists even easier. You can import CSVs directly into the app on Android, Mac, and iPhone directly and we have live support to help on our website. Thanks!
For those trying to do this on Windows 11 and unable to see the "Import" option in Contacts, there's one missing step: once you're in "Contacts", press the up-arrow (left of the "Refresh" button) to go up one folder level, then click on Contacts again. This will make the "Import" and "Export" options appear in your Explorer window. You'll need "Export" later in the tutorial. (Note: when he says "push these little tabs here", it looks different in Windows 11. It's 3 dots in Windows 11 instead of the "little tabs".)
This works perfectly with one exception. I tried this first on my new Windows 11 machine but I didn't find you could import contacts into the contact folder. I switched to my older Windows 10 laptop and it worked perfectly. Thank you, this has saved me a lot of time.

Help!!!!!! like u told RUN-CMD-PASTE VCF FILE LOCATION its showing not recognized as internal or external command, operable programme or batch file what should i do
It looks like the way the VCard is being created, with the e-mail line as "EMAIL;PREF;INTERNET:", is not working anymore. I'm using Windows 10 and iCloud is not importing the e-mail information. I changed that to "EMAIL;type=INTERNET;type=WORK;type=pref:" -- which I found somewhere -- and somehow it worked. But I will still research more why it did!!
It looks like Apple changed something at the iCloud configuration, because since the last update they made, when you drag and drop the VCF not only Contacts does not idenfify the cell phone number -- it is saved as a regular phone -- as it does not import the e-mail as it used to do before, when following your instructions. Have you tested those tips after the update?
I just found this video and had the same question. Once you do the Run > Contacts go up one folder then back into the Contacts and it now has options at the top including import.
on the first try it worked very well... then i have to change some values in the origin csv-list. Now every time, while doing the step in the cmd, the system try to copy the "allcontacts"file into the "allcontacts"File... anybody else with this the problem?? (Sorry for the bad english... greeds from germany... ^^)
BEWARE - this method does not work for outlook contacts with more than one email address because the CONTACTS vcards can only accommodate 1 email. You will see in your .csv mapping - email 1, 2, 3 you will only see 'email address' to map to - if you map to one - it will remove from the other. Not an expert, just sharing my experience.
One idea is to use our built in CSV importer for faster usage in the app if you are trying to send folks a text message. We make it easy: app.hitemupapp.com
