We all made fun of the characters in school, but we still all watched it, right?... Good acting, lots of laughs, no deaths and with a moral in every episode - wholesome entertainment compared to today's television shows. Respect

Maybe not ... but by polishing the barrel she is also searching for external corrosion on the barrel that may indicate through-and-through corrosion that would render the barrel of the cannon essentially useless.

I must've missed this episode. Don't remember seeing this. A Ghalil rifle instead of a Mini 14 on the turret? That's a new one. Putting the girl on the turret would have sufficed, those double barreled guns of hers looked pretty lethal.
Well, they were trying to imply the Galil was a machine gun. And, really, the Galil ARM seen here, was.. kinda set up as a SAW. Bipod, heavy 18-inch barrel, carry handle, 35-round mag (when 20-rounders were still semi-common).. yeah. Even if it was technically used as a standard rifle.

Not a good idea going through a wall. If you pause at 7:49, you can see concrete in the barrel. That could be a problem on the next shot!

I always wondered, why no M-16s? Or Stoner 63s? No one in the Nam used Ruger mini-14s.
Mini 14s were cheap at the time, easy to acquire, and easy for the armorers and gunsmiths to modify to fire blanks or to full auto.
