I am one of the overseas fans who will someday make a pilgrimage to Wrexham- and it isn’t too much to say your channel has contributed significantly to my love of the club. The takeover talk got me interested and found your channel- the old school gameday vlogs in the tech end is what really hooked me. When I do come over I would love to say hi to you. Congrats on your continued growth- I was gutted when you got the desist order and I was worried for your youtube future- but your determination has shone thru. Up the Town and Merry Christmas- here’s hoping the Red Dragons pick up lots of points over the holiday fixtures!!!
Wrexham is very diverse and is definitely on the up, we have the biggest industrial estate in Britain, the largest prison in Britain and the largest Council estate in Europe!
im not a supporter, i like the owners. but wrexham have always been a small low supported club. even now, sitting top 3 in league one they have thousands of empty seats
You do a great job mate. Keep up the good work. I am not a Wrexham fan but watch your videos from Australia. The club should be helping you as you take Wrexham worldwide. Merry Christmas.
You’re a good ambassador for Wrexham, I know lads from around there so I always check out the results, Rob and Ryan seem very sincere and definitely decent blokes, they ‘get our football’ , Wales is a beautiful country , I go to North Wales regularly, the history from the mountains to the castles is unbelievable , take care Man U , Salford
You pronounced Syracuse just right. Thank you for the updates, I dont even follow any news sites I just wait until your videos drop to get my news on Wrexham. Love your channel and hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Been a follower of you Liam for quite some time. I go back to the National League days. I enjoy following lower league football in Europe and here in The US. Derby City, Wrexham, Venezia, Padova, St Pauli in Europe and Detroit City in The US. Keep up your updates.
Hi Liam, thanks for the coverage and a brilliant channel. From a North Walian living in Ireland. Have a Great Christmas mate. Nadolig Llawen from Limerick 🇨🇮🏴👍👍
I was one of the visitors this year as I was in Wales for business. I made sure to take a couple days off to visit north and stop by Wrexham for a dinner, a pint, and walk about the town.
Have a Merry Christmas Liam. What you have accomplished is amazing. As others have mentioned, your channel is the best source of news for the club. To all the other channel supporters, have a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year!
It's always a treat to see another Liam vid. Hoping one day to watch a match standing in the Tech and singing the lads to another win. Merry Christmas to all!
Thanks for the very up to date content brother fell in love with European football 5 or 6 years ago as an American, and have veen loving Wrexhams journey from day 1 of the boys buying the club 🤙
Liam, I'd love to see you expand to interviews. You're not the little guy anymore, with your audience I think you are a legit sports journalist in your own right. Ask for interviews.
I started following Wrexham after I saw Ryan Reynolds talk on TV about getting in trouble with his wife because he had just bought a half share of some obscure Welsh football club without her permission. I thought at the time that was a pretty cool toy to be able to buy. He could afford to lose a million or two. And that there's a lot of men who'd love the chance to run a professional sports team - sort of the ultimate step up from fandom. I could see the allure. In the first season (early 2022) there was talk about the club losing money that would likely be in the millions. I commented then that McElhenney had enough money to cover running the club in League 2 (he's a multimillionaire but not "rich"). Reynolds, however, had serious money, enough to cover the inevitable losses up to League 1, though not the Championship unless he risked everything he had. That would have been a bad investment and Ryan Reynolds wasn't going to make that mistake. Consequently I asserted they would need to bring someone in, someone truly rich, to get to the Championship level. The Premier level would be yet another huge jump in working capital amounting to hundreds of millions of pounds. I couldn't see that ever happening for an insignificant city in Northern Wales. But last month, right on cue, they've apparently brought in that "deep pocket" investor. It seems they're actually serious about getting to the Premier League! So happy for all those fans of the club, especially those who contributed to the Supporters' Trust at the nadir of the club's fortunes, who were there before the takeover. Amazing! Liam, you must be living the dream.
Thats the kind of money that gets you to the Premier League. The tricky part is having the vision of the way the club should play and creating it now. Not when you get promoted.
Let’s hope Wrexham stays safe and well grounded. some places in wales I’ve heard as soon as there football club gained more fame & success there cities became a grounds for immigrants and crime went up House prices rent sky rocketed
Makes me laugh when people say plastic fans, but it's ok to wear Inter Miami shirts just because Messi plays for them, and when Messi moves to another club they ditch it and support the next club he plays for. I also don't think they're plastic fans, they are people who probably didn't support a football team previously, and may not have even been interested in football. If a bit of Hollywood fairy dust has convinced them to get into football, that's a good thing. It's benefitted other clubs not just Wrexham, bringing more fans to other stadiums.
I wonder if this was what's resulted in Ryan 'stepping away'. A $600M (USD) endowment is huge amount a more than might be needed to build a medium sized new stadium in the 30-40K range for seating. I expect they will be announcing plans for a new stadium within the year. If approved and the funding present they might be playing in it by 2028, maybe even sooner.
@@d-rot I was just pointing out the rumors about him stepping away, whatever that means. But I do confess to being somewhat puzzled about the ownership of Wrexham -- Ryan and his partner are the owners, but this $600M seems an odd thing from the Allyn Family. If I owned the team and someone came along with $600M I'm not sure what I'd make of it. For even a very wealthy person, laying out $600M is a huge deal and I'd want to know what level of involvement the family will have in on-pitch and off-pitch activities. Also, $600M for a team in the Champions League would be comparable to, perhaps, a couple billion in the Premier. Again, something isn't adding up.
@@Raptorman0909 I'm certain it's not entirely charity and heartwarming stories that are behind the Allyns' investments. Or even at all. They've heavily invested in their local area of Upstate NY, as economically depressed as any other Rust Belt part of America is a long term investment. The area is beautiful, not without solid resources like educational systems, water, ag, etc. (There's quite a bit of chip making upstate as IBM's roots are in the Hudson River Valley iirc, Kodak was based in nearby Rochester) It's likely they see 1) R&R's successes (Ryan's in particular) as compelling investments, so stepping away is ludicrous when they're central key men. Selling and telling stories powerfully and well is big in industries well beyond Hollywood. 2) Ground floor investment towards a Premiership run. I'm just a bloke from Vegas who always loved EFL because of the crowd chants primarily (lol, I love audience participation), but felt plastic if I just had chose based on my FIFA 98 fav a Premier team as "my team." (like wtf picking Liverpool or Man U is like choosing to be a Yankees fan but not from NY) So for me, fan of RR, fan of EFL, fan of perennially weak teams (Cleveland Indians and KC Chiefs decades before they were awesome) Wrexham being on their ass, I was "fuck it, this is my team. Let's see where it goes." Watched all the back catalog Dragonheart's pods on YT, I'm all in. Cost me a couple hundred bucks all in. Easy peasy. For rich folk, they gotta see success, track records, and a plan before they put their money up. It's stunning news for Wrexham. This isn't dreamers from Hollywood on a lark. This is institutional sized money, it's cache among the rich in one of the richest states in America. It's a tap into a DEEP well of wealth. And will be regarded as a cornerstone of the foundation of long term financial stability of the club for decades. Ya'll are going to have rename three streets or stands for Rob, for Ryan, and for the Allyns. I'm fucking stoked for you blokes.
Wrexham are an interesting case. Clearly a US franchise model is unlikely to work in the UK so Wrexham are, IMO, restricted in their growth by pure Geography. The strong DNA allegiance of nearby Merseyside & Lancs clubs is a natural barrier to local growth. Hence, sustainability of growth can only come via either cash input or commercial sustained growth. This is of course not risk-free in that any volatility in the brand or indeed those investing can have consequences. I will watch with interest but usually organic growth usually wins over a boom strategy that could easily go bust! Good luck though
There's no Welsh club of any stature from the Valleys to the Chester border, except Wrexham. Attendances have gone from 3.5k to 13k sell outs. The capex investment is needed to advance the ground. Wont happen overnight.
@Jj-ff9vq totally agree but just like here in Worcestershire it's full no doubt of plastic Man U & Lpool fans. You know, the bandwagoners who always have the most tenuous and creative links to those clubs. Would you really want to sell your soul and have those types?
$600m? That’s the value of the club and then some. I’d say that’s mostly community investment. Trust me Wrexham will look more like the 60s economically. Hope it’s what you want. They bring life into old steel towns. Get ready lads and ladies
The business isn't worth hundreds of millions and R&R have retained a controlling interest, i.e. >50% ownership, so who would spend $600m on less than half a business worth tens of millions. Just a silly amount of money being circulated by people with zero understanding of basic economics.
I don't comment a lot, usually just lurk here and there, but It's been fun watching your channel grow over the past 2-3 years now. From the national league vlogs, all the way up to using you as my go-to for news on League 1 and Wrexham stuff now. Have a merry Christmas dude!

Both pronunciations of Syracuse are correct. It's a very Wrexham-ish city, older industrial town that went through hard time for 40+ years.
