ProDiag Overview and Supervision Tags - TIA Portal

- ProDiag is an efficient and easy to use message system specially developed in Siemens TIA Portal for operation supervision of machine / plant. It only needs to activate supervision of the tag which needs to be monitored and generate alarm if triggered. It is also good option to discrete alarm which takes comparatively little bit more time for the configuration.
An alarm will appear if the supervised signal and all other assigned conditions are present. It will go out automatically if supervised signal or condition will not present. These alarms can be selected in Alarm View object in the HMI.
ProDiag permits to classify the message in different levels / types like Operand, Interlock, Action, Reaction, Position, Text Message and Error Message.

I could not understand what difference does different supervision types make ? I think simmillar error conditions can be created using any of them.
Is it possible to do a template for each category so all alarms use same settings etc? It is real pain in the *ss to do all alarms one by one..
And for what are the bit warnings of the siemens HMIs where you can configure the types of warnings and categories in a way outside the plc code without using a FB diag ??
Hi, You can use the warnings/alarms independently. Sequence program generated warnings and alarms needs to be configure separately as it will trigger once in a sequence. Wherein FB Diag helps to generate warnings/alarms multiple times by calling multi instance FB.

@@info-share5876 I mean the prodiag is too complex as a system. you have to be fully onboard with siemens structure to use it.
