    Is there a regular silver/grey metal wire equivalent? If so, what specifications (gauge, etc)? Thanks.

  • @texasgigi3684

    Hello! I really got a better understanding for riveting through this video! I know you said how many mm the wire is, but could you tell me the gauge and is it soft, hard, half hard wire? Thanks!

    Loved your tutorial! So helpful. I had no idea that you could make an invisible rivet. That opens up so many new design possibilities. Thanks for sharing!

    That was such a clear demonstration, thank you. What drill & drill bit did you use to make the hole, I’m just starting out so don’t want to waste any money buying things I don’t need.

    I knew that I remembered seeing a proper tutorial on making rivets with wire and a hammer somewhere. I should have known it was you. You and Ms Nancy Hamilton have some of the best videos on jewelry crafting out here.

    hello! lily, Awesome teaching! I did my first rib-it with already made ones with a filigree and added a filigree flower, glue a bezel with picture in it. But my flower was not tight and turned, due to be too loose. I want to learn how to do this for future projects. what caught my eye was your cuff and wanted to know how you did that design on it and made cuff. I use a lot of bezels and put pictures under glass globes which goes into bezel. Can you tell me if you have a tutorial on that? I am a beginner on this process. I usually by already made cuffs, and filigrees. Wand to make my own in the future. thks blessings

    You're determined to get me into my neighbours bad books lol...any excuse for hammering eh? No this is lovely. ..I'm off to find that bracelet because I have a big parcel of copper sheet offcuts in the mail so I really should buy my next door neighbour a pair of earmuffs lol...no all my neighbours are lovely, I let my immediate neighbours granddaughter come in and choose what she wants to make for elastic bracelets so I think that gets me brownie points, every school holiday she's over making bracelets for herself and friends (you know what those Jewellery Maker kits are like-a ton of coloured cord and ribbons and just about everything imaginable. ..great for entertaining little girls!) Off to find the bracelet. ..I love it (mine won't be half as nice but I really want to try riveting).

    but i have a question. How can you avoid the green color in you skin when you are wearing copper jewlery?? there is any trick?? thanks!

    • @LilyTree
      @LilyTree  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I have a blog post that covers just that issue: www.createwithcopper.co.uk/single-post/2016/10/25/How-to-prevent-copper-turning-your-skin-Green . I'm a big fan of renaissance wax so I tend to use that, which also provides a nice little ritual at the end of a make!

      Thank you! I've been crafting for as long as I can remember and like to experiment with materials, techniques and ideas. I'm focusing on jewellery, metalsmithing and wirework but, yes, I heart I guess I'm a crafter. If it can be made, I like to try it!

    Great tutorial, even on mute. Watched while hubby watched something on TV. The demo and graphics show exactly what to do. The embellishment turned out beautiful. A whole lot cheaper than buying sheet copper and a disc cutter and easier than using the same. TFS!

    • @LilyTree
      @LilyTree  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! The drill you see is the handpiece of the Foredom Pendant Motor, so it is small to handle, but non too portable! I got it about 6 months ago, and I admit that I really do love it!

    • @Niyapeace
      @Niyapeace 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lily-Tree That's helpful to know. I'm looking at buying a cordless Dremel. Not sleek like yours but portable. Thank you x

    • @leonardpearlman4017
      @leonardpearlman4017 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Watch out- most of those quick-change handpieces only use one size of burr (drill, grinding wheel and so on), so you have to make sure you get those 3/32" I think. The "Dremel" stuff you see everywhere is mostly 1/8" shaft, and of course drills come in many sizes. I think it's common to have several handpieces.
