My favourite Eckhart teaching,, thoughts that judge other thoughts, such a relief for those with OCD and intrusive thoughts to hear Eckhart address this horrible mental health struggle 🙏🙏🙏🙏

" You are the SPACE between the thoughts" quote Eckart Tolle. There is all the love of the Universe in it. So grateful.....💓🙏

The moment a human realizes that they are not the content of their own thinking, is the same moment there given the opportunity of sustained awakening. But to sustain awakening takes responsibility and discipline. Hence discipline equals freedom!!

YES! I love these teachings! I see new Age teachings keep saying "you are your thoughts" -on a daily basis and it's not true! We are not our thoughts! We are not our feelings! We are the awareness, consciousness, soul.

I’ve been trying to get back to that childlike way of thinking as I’ve gotten older, which is just accepting things for what they are, rather than letting my thoughts run wild and create meaning about every single thing.

It does get easier with practice and self observation. For example, one time I was out walking and when I passed a neighbor's property I thought, "Why do they pave over their front yard instead of just planting some low-maintenance bushes?" Like it was any of my business! It made an impression on me and I think of it often when I catch myself judging things now. Little Miss Judgy. 😂

Hi Lacy, it helps to remember that our thoughts are neither real or necessary, there are no thoughts that need to be thought about and equally there are no thoughts we are not free to think about enjoy. When we were kids everything was a game and it still is if we just use our imagination rather than allowing our minds to use it. Our minds use our imagination to create worries and fears that are just not real, there is no law to say we must believe our minds fearful fantasies 😊 and equally there is no law to say we are not allowed to use our imagination for fun again,, next time you see a puddle, jump in it 😊why not? 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Yes, judging, judging, judging ...Lacy you could say it is connecting with who you are, instead of considering it being childlike, as another thought and Identification by your mind to define what Echkart is saying here.

@@TerriblePerfection I totally get what you mean since I experience the same thing over and over.
But on the other hand, that observation (or judgment) could be used to create new ideas or inventions, right? In that case, could it be still considered as "judging" or "creativity"?

      Sit quietly.
      We do nothing.
We sit and we let the grass grow by itself.
If you do anything, you'd destroy the grass.
Who can be still until the mud settles down and the muddy water clears itself??
      Any doing leads to conflict.
We only cease to let the mind interfere in the unfolding.
      Watch.
No talk can explain the Way!
      Words! Words! Words!
The Great Way is beyond any words!
Zen happens only in Silence. Not in language.

I love Eckhart - a truly enlightened person that speaks to us in a "so called" modern society - a voice that attacks the "ego" voice in these times . Each one of us is into her/his ego because we believe we are fragmented splinters "running around out there" . The rule of our egos will only cause us to lose our cherished relationships and believe that getting a dog, and dressing it up will fulfill our "human" needs. If you are fragmented, you have np sense of continuity - of being interrelated to the "vast expanse" . Once you truly experience the direct experience of the vast spaciousness of the universe, you will never be afraid of death because, like Socrates, you truly believe there is no death..

I don't always express my opinion 🤷 lately. I just let other people talk. The strange thing about it is your thoughts change as you live and grow so therefore your opinions change too. So I don't get too stuck in one thought on something 🤔 I'm open. I've been called out for changing my opinion. I just say yep I've changed my thoughts.

Waking up each day just hoping your mind will go easy on you in the day ahead, absolutely horrible. One of the best things I ever read was from someone in the comment section on this site, they wrote "They are not your thoughts, they are not even about you",! Unbelievably enlightening and liberating comment, I'd love to take credit for it myself, but alas my conscience won't let me 😊😊😊🙏🙏🙏🙏

I had this really vivid dream many years ago that I never forgot. In the dream someone asked me to get up on stage and tell some stories. I did and people were clapping and laughing and I felt all important and inflated. They loved me. Suddenly, people were throwing things at me, calling me names and telling me how horrible I was and there was instant deflation. Then everything evaporated and a voice, neither male nor female, yet both, coming from neither inside or outside, yet both, said "Have no opinion. Hold no judgement. Therein lies freedom". In the dream there was recognition of the true "I" and that people liking me or disliking, were the same. Had nothing to do with "me". Egoic identification inflates and deflates and it brings suffering that is unnecessary. The true "I" is free.

You hear from the air transmitted world with your ears. You feel from this physical world with senses held within your skin. Know this Thoughts can be transmitted to your brain by Rods and Cones found within its center, like a Antenna found within your Brain. One must tune ones channel select by your heart. Thoughts come from your tuning and your soul. Who and What do you seek. All have the ability to manifest and know what is mediated by ones heart.

Molto interessante!

.."the master keeps her mind always at one with the Tao" - why just the mind? Thought (not to be confused with thinking) is how existence exists. When speaking about the physical aspects of expression, muscles are the conductor of thought. To believe that thought is only of the mind, is self seeing self in limitation...where as the heart and stomach (all muscles), are working coherently with the brain to conduct thought into physical action or potential physical action. But aside from the confusion of understanding the difference between thought to thinking, there's lots of talk of separation and expectation with the Tao, that it contradicts itself. How can there be a "natural" flow, when it state there are laws and principles to follow? Who's making these decision for MY natural flow? @lightsource369

Perhaps find ways to help her experiencing being beyond thought, spend time in nature, doing a favorite hobby (deep focus and flow) etc. And you could ask her if she feels more herself/alive when in those moments... And if YES then suggest its because she IS her full self when she's just doing and being, when experiencing those things, not getting lost in the "monkey mind" as i call it. :) Blessings to you and your daughter ❤️
