I love the fact that the show opens with Richie being dead, so then when he says "I love being alive!" you hear a chorus of gasps and "No!"s from the audience
I just love Richie and Jon's performance in here, aswell as Angela's they were totally awesome

Hands down, the whole joke with him getting scared but then proceeding to confront his fear was so funny (and him proceeding to think it was a nice thing and being so genuinely excited as well). But that specific line is probably the line that I keep randomly replaying in my head the most

At first I was upset that Jeff Blim wasn't in this show, but then I realized that having him and Will Branner in the same room would have created some sort of nexus of chaotic energy that would have ripped the fabric of reality apart.
He was in the show once I think. During the Hatchet Town song where the town is blaming everyone. He was the man in a hurry.
he does some voiceovers too but he’s not a full cast member. i definitely felt his absence (along with jaime lyn) but i think the show is incredible and jeff’s presence is additionally there with his music

Angela has been such a shockingly good fit for Starkid, she has that enthusiasm that you can just feel, and eminantes their brand of unhinged so well. Everytime she spoke I was dying laughing

I know! Like I was watching Black Friday the other day and I was wondering how Angela manages to play a laid back, stock girl at toy zone like Lex and then play a young girl who is a devout Christian and has a shrill voice. Like just the range she has is so amazing!
Also, Kim, since Black Friday has been given more varied roles, so we've been able to enjoy her range too. @@GalacticGaming_
@@scw55 yeah definitely! Kim has always really good vocal range as well as an acting one. She can just play so many character even just in NPMD! (Nibbly, Miss Mulberry, Mrs.Chastity, Miss Tessburger, etc.)

Angela as Grace Chastity is absolutely amazing, literally cant imagine anyone playing Grace as well as she does, she just brings such unhinged energy to her. And I was so pleasantly surprised with Max, seriously, Will has such good line delivery, and like Angela he brings such intensity and unhinged energy to his character, it's delightful.
(And Richie's "I'm not a loser" is staying rentfree in my head, they really got me caring for him despite telling me he'd die from the get-go lol)
7:20 "Oh, it's all right, Grace" ✋️ "don't comfort her, she's fucking weird" is such a great way to close that pitty party
1:15 Jon Matteson saying 'NANI?!' is my favourite line in the whole musical

There's also a bit where Joey calls Rose Mariah "A mean girl", which I suspect is a nod to her being in Mean Girls.

About Pete being the hot chocolate kid. I kinda had an inkling ever since the first photos where you can see Joey wearing the outfit. It’s such a distinctive look.
You know what'll really break your brain? Only 4 years passed between AVPM and AVPSY. And the first five years of Starkid covers THE ENTIRE TIME THEY WERE DOING PARODY MUSICALS. It's been all originals since then, outside of VHS Christmas which is less parody and more comedic adaptation of public domain material (and was originally not marketed as a Starkid musical but rather Starkid just being the company to virtually stage their friend Clark Baxtresser's concept album).

Gosh this one really grew on me, I love the writing and performances. The concept of the barbecue monologues had me dying.
It’s grew on me so suddenly. I watched the digital ticket but was too busy with life to get really attached and now I’m absolutely crazy about the show

I managed to avoid spoilers and didn’t listen to the cast album before watching the pro shot last night. I genuinely thought they were gonna kill off Joey and I started crying.
SAME i’ve avoided everything about this musical since it premiered and genuinely had NO idea what the premise even really was, it got me so good there

I was pleading the entire time for grace to pay the price instead. I knew that if she gave up what mattered most to her it wouldn’t be a person. When Steph had the gun pointed at him I was praying for someone to intervene even though I didn’t think they would. When grace started acting seductive I immediately knew what she was doing. I was so relieved that I didn’t even care when grace went psycho killer because Pete and Steph lived. I loved the ending of this show.

It's good with this musical; they buried the accidental "autistic coded hot chocolate boy" and retconned the character as the lead who sometimes gets intensely stressed about justified things.

Max is my favourite Starkid villain by far. He's even better than Aladdin.
The line "i never asked for this tickle in my mommy spot" is so off the wall and hilarious but Angela delivers it with such emotion it breaks my heart every time I hear it. She sells the scared kid in way over her head trope perfectly. Angela got me into starkid (initially prompted by Deadmeat but it was Angela that got me to actually watch the Hatchetfield series) and i'm continuously validated in my stanning of all things Angela.
Notice just how many lines here are from Max. Will did such an amazing job with delivery on an amazing lt. written character
