@@prostriking as long as Garry isn’t distracted by all the out of competition issues I totally agree. He’s just entering his prime & he’s one of the most entertaining strikers in MMA, potentially a younger Wonderboy. Rumor has it though, apparently Ian was KOd fairly recently by Shankar in sparring & that could affect him🤔
7:07 this is such a good point: Ian is constantly on the move looking to train with the biggest names, and he was just lucky enough to come across Henry/Tom in the process. I really doubt he flew 200 miles to train with anyone other than the champ with name value.
@@prostriking what's so good about this video is that you set out the important facts as someone who actually witnessed them. As Veronica Hardy pointed out IG is the only person ever kicked out of Renegade. If you think that's because of Leon's insecurity then I've got a bridge to sell you lol.
Unless Ian Garry commits to a gym, on a long term, dependable basis --- willing to sacrifice long hours for the other team members, while also getting his needs met (if he only goes to a gym to get specialized training from specialized coaches: BJJ, Muay Thail, wrestling, etc) --- he isn't going to be welcomed anywhere. If he and his overbearing wife/manager don't know that, Ian may not fulfil his MMA promises. Acting like his idol, Conor, and being Conor are two different things; that 26 year-old Irishman needs to know the difference. Colby, the MAGA man, has the support of both Trump (Mr. MAGA/Mr. Vulgarity himself) and Dana, personally; so he could do his WWE bullshit & Dana would use those as substitutes for activities at the UFC. Ian is barely into the Top 15. If he acts like Conor and Colby on steroid, he could be out more than just good gyms; he could be booted from the UFC.
Ye I think he's definitely unsure of the person that he wants to be. At least with Colby it is a persona he's created and he's not trying to be likeable. Thanks for the well put together comment!
Really enjoyed this. So much info which civilians like me would never have access to. It seems blindingly obvious that IG has been misleading about the facts of leaving Renegade. The conflict of interest point makes total sense. Making this about Leon being insecure feels like part of a wider PR strategy once the Renegade bridges were burned, i.e. "what do I have to lose?". He seems to DNGAF about MMA gym etiquette never mind genuinely being part of a team instead of preferring his own interests and social media footprint. He has such poor judgment about what to say and what not to say/do including the Geoff Neal mugshot, the Magny pre-fight comments, telling stories like the one about his wife and the lift 'trip' with Khamzat, etc. On the other hand maybe he and his wife/team are just evil geniuses lol. TBH I don't really care who he is married to, how old she is, what books she wrote and whether they were satirical, what his surname is, what his relationship is with his ex-wife's husband or whether he is a vegan. I would be over the moon about a Luque victory taking him down a peg or two. That said, I don't see that happening. IG is a fantastic striker with great range, footwork and feints. Great fighter, perhaps less great of a person but then again WTF does a 50yo Brummie (Black Country actually but went to school in Birmingham) lawyer (hence this essay) who is a massive fan of Leon and would crumble at the sight of an octagon know lol. Newly subscribed, with thanks 🙏
Amazing comment to read thank you for taking the time to write it!! Ye I have a feeling Luque is a little past his best and Garrys footwork and range will give him a headache! Like you say as much as he might be a bit of nob he is a very good fighter haha. Thanks again for the input and glad you enjoyed the video! 😄🙏
Great content lad. Was thinking the exact same thing, how it's funny his wife hounded you and your cameraman, at your gym, for what he was doing with the footage, yet Ian is at the point of getting booted out of gyms for turning up with a variety of cameras filming his teammates. Real bizarre entitlement from these two.
😂😂😂😂 I was referring to the time him and the Breeseman decided to take it in turns to see who could arm triangle choke me the most in a 5min round (6 each if memory serves me right). The shower stuff stays at the gym 😂
This is an excellent question 😂😂 To be fair Renegade has opened its doors to a lot of fighters and Tom Breeze is very cool about people cross training etc. I think when garry first came in he seemed genuine enough but then his antics outside of the gym brought his intentions into question. He'd also rock up late and with a bit of an entourage. He's pretty much the first fighter I've known of to be asked to leave. Arnold Allen, figlak brothers, Christian Duncan, even former opponents of lads like Jamie Richardson, who'd been ko'd by Nato Frederick's, have come down to train.
Because Tom Breese had lived in the Tristar dorms and travelled himself a bit he's pretty much opened his doors to all but there's come a realisation you can't allow everyone in! Hope that answers it to some degree! Thanks for commenting
“Leon Edwards wasn’t insecure…. Leon Edwards is the wall wrestling coach in the gym, Garry could learn from him without giving anything back. Why’d he come from Ireland to Birmingham? How’d he hear about the other coaches? Maybe he’s trying to get inside information, maybe he’s a mole, we just didn’t know what to believe so thought best not to have him back”.. doesn’t sound paranoid/insecure at all 😂😂
I thought i recognised you - went to carillion at the same time as you. good to see you doing well - in terms of ian garry how would you rate his striking compares to leons ?
Ha! No way! I got the boot from carillion 😂 recession and me being a shit carpenter killer that dream Garry is class to be fair. Really good distance management and uses his range well. He can get a bit unstuck in the pocket at times, like good pressure fighters could get to him, but I think he's a very good fighter.
Is that the Birmingham accent? had to put subtitles on haha. I agree with the points you made. Speaking from a strictly professional perspective, there was a conflict of interest, and there was no upside for Renegade
Common sense here. If he's not putting into the gym as much as he's taking out (even then that doesnt mean anything in this context), and he's fighting in _the exact same weight class and organisation as the champion,_ who *is* a member of the gym, then he's got to be viewed as a probable threat and as you say, conflict of interest. Its a different thing altogether if, as you say, the guy was already a member and coming up through the ranks, that's totally different. But he isn't. Easy decision. Sorry pal, your direct competitor trains here, you'll have to find another place.
Put my tin foil hat on and his Mrs may have orchestrated the whole thing to build a story to fast track Ian to a title shot 🤣 Thanks for commenting mate glad I made enough sense and the common sense can prevail haha 😄🙏❤️
I'd believe this version. Don't like the sound of Garry's wife asking a coach of the gym, whose hired a videographer, what he's doing with content that has him filmed in it. Think Garry is a sound lad, but probably not getting good advice/misguided.
Ian Gary taking a lot of Ls this week
😂 ye, good fighter though. Think he'll be a bit too slick for Luque.

Is a challange for Rocky , Islam say is sparring with Leon and already beat him.
why do you look like jean charles skarbowsky
Extremely bias
Of course!
