Bonjour Madame, pour les ataxies spinocérébelleuses d'origine génétique, les progrès acquis à la suite du traitement ne peuvent être permanents car nous ne pouvons pas taiter la cause génétique de la maladie. Cependant notre traitement permet de restaurer la fonction cérébrale de manière temporaire, entraînant des progrès en terme d'équilibre, coordination, force musculaire, fatigabilité etc.

“If it were possible to grow new cerebellar neurons, particularly Purkinje cells, it would be possible to treat all forms of ataxia. Unfortunately, viable neurons have not been successfully grown from adult stem cells.
Stem cells do exist within the adult hippocampus which, given the proper chemical signal, can differentiate into different types of neurons, however the chemical signal for Purkinje cells is not currently known.
Purkinje cells develop when the embryo is roughly ten days old and do not typically develop any more after that, making it very difficult to force adult stem cells to differentiate into them.”
