Thanks for sharing this densely packed lesson. As an elementary school performing arts teacher, I am able to give my students a taster of world rhythms. I'd even order several sets of congas and a boss 505 looper to give kids a chance to feel what its like to fill in a few measures of music. Thanks again Kalani for your great work, from Australia. 🎹🎹🎼🎛

I found this very interesting. Thank you
But I have one question, since I play a few other instruments like keyboard, piano, guitar e.g..
Will playing the conga, bongo, and djembe be hard on one's hands...like affect the flexibility of the hands, or anything else that would affect them negatively for being able to play other instruments well?
I've never tried either of those, but looking at people playing them gives the impression that they slap them pretty hard sometimes.
    Thanks 🪘

Search for “bongo stand seated” or “sitting position.” They are available from several makers.

Would love to learn some Balkan music on the djembe and the bongos... a fan of Goran Bregovic, and you, obviously. Any tips would be appreciated.
