American gun laws are ass backwards. In most other countries with far stricter gun control, including places like where I live, where pistols are basically unobtainable and semi automatic rifles are completely illegal, supressors are unregulated, and considered to be hearing protection, not just for the user, but bystanders. But no, not America, America gotta be different, 100 round drum full of high velocity rifle ammo on a semi auto, totally fine, you can even carry that shit in public in many states, with the expressed intent of self defence, (firearms for self defence are illegal in my country, as is any kind of premeditated self defence aid such as a stick or a club) that's fine. But holy crap are you in trouble if you buy a "solvent trap" or happen to own guns and buy oil filters at the same time. America is weird. By the way, don't take this as anti gun, I'm so pro gun that I think 2A doesn't go far enough, I believe in mandatory gun ownership for the explicit purpose of defence, and I think defensive firearms training should also be mandatory. Imagine the lives that would be saved, and how safe and secure our communities would be, home invasions, robberies and burglaries would be a thing if the past. This needs to happen, a gun in the house should be as essential as a smoke alarm, and when you get the health and safety induction at work, you should be shown where the AED, first aid kit, fire extinguisher and emergency bad guy dispatcher are kept.

You are correct on the AOW disguised weapon law. Two most common ones I've dealt with are the MP5K briefcase and wallet style holsters that you can fire a handgun from inside of it.
The mosin flamethrower is real, and was built that way in an attempt to disguise it so the flame solders weren't specifically targeted for being, well, flame soldiers. Also yes, it was indeed lit via muzzle flash.

Nope. The ones they've got in finland are issued ROKS-2 flamethrowers, which were pretty interesting and saw quite a lot of combat use. The one on the photo is a completely different beast. It was a test prototype was quickly scrapped right after the trials and it WAS a hybrid of a Mosin-Nagant rifle and a ROKS flamethrower. Valves had problems, the range was 20 metres compared to ROKS' 40 metres, the rifle's barrell was damaged by the flame, the ignition didn't work almost at all (out of 22 shots there was a single successful instance of ignition from a tracer round) and, ahem, quote "the lack of expediency in combining two types of weapons with starkly different combat capabilities and tactical application possibilities". Or, in other words: "What is this and what were you smoking?" And yes, the fuel was supposed to be combusted by a proper 7.62x54 round. They couldn't figure out how to make it work in the end. Source: Kalashnikov media had a blog post about it back in 2019. The author mocks the whole idea of this contraption across the whole post. "Useful for making shish kebabs during combat conditions" and all that.

Nope. The ones they've got in finland are issued ROKS-2 flamethrowers, which were pretty interesting and saw quite a lot of combat use.
The one on the photo is a completely different beast. It was a test prototype was quickly scrapped right after the trials and it WAS a hybrid of a Mosin-Nagant rifle and a ROKS flamethrower. Valves had problems, the range was 20 metres compared to ROKS' 40 metres, the rifle's barrell was damaged by the flame, the ignition didn't work almost at all (out of 22 shots there was a single successful instance of ignition from a tracer round) and, ahem, quote "the lack of expediency in combining two types of weapons with starkly different combat capabilities and tactical application possibilities". Or, in other words: "What is this and what were you smoking?"
And yes, the fuel was supposed to be combusted by a proper 7.62x54 round. They couldn't figure out how to make it work in the end.
