All I need to say about Wesker winning is that out of all the killers who were experimented on, captured by Talbot Grimes (The Blight) and injected with the Blighted Serum, Wesker was the only one who experimented on himself. Capturing Wesker was obviously hard for Talbot, and that he managed to have parts of his serum stolen from him probably. Talbot even managed to capture and experiment Sadako (The Onryo) of all people.
Not kill they were captured, big difference. The serum only works on alive hosts, last time I checked. If it kills them afterwards is something I don't fully know. Also Wesker blighted outfit says he tested himself with the blighted serum.
Also as far as I can remember blight isn’t all that powerful, he just kinda does a hit and run and then observes the after effects when he is blighting other killers

There are a few killers in DBD that would beat Wesker if the entity didn't nerf them. Dredge being one of them.

I would assume that the serum was a perfect match with wesker seeing as he isn't as horribly disfigured as the other killers
