I used to think that pride was confidence, so I would tell myself I couldn’t feel accomplished after I did something. But now I know that I can feel accomplished as long as I don’t look down on others

@OP - it's not even about feeling accomplished. It's more about giving thanks to God for providing you the opportunities and the gifts to be able to do the things you can do. Humility is being able to point back to Him in your success and come to Him in your failures and trust you can do all things through Him who strengthens you.
We were tought to be proud , be proud everyone would say . This is the trap for people set by satin . The riches , accomplishments of all sorts , great possessions , evan being in top shape or being an elite athlete. Ect people may not look down on others much at all and be humble in that respect yet suffer from an over inflation of high minded self introspection . Meaning look at what I did , syndrom. I'm struggling with pride my whole life, and I am praying and believing that through the transforming power of God's Word and Spirit, I will become more like Jesus.
Ah man, I can’t tell you the exact amount of times I seen myself acting in pride. It’s a struggle most of us share. But the fact you can see you’re struggling with it and even more want to change from it shows the LORD is working in you. You got this ! The struggle is evidence of your faith in Jesus !
I understand you, I struggle with jealousy, and I think we have this mindset that a Christian is supposed to be perfect and can't struggle with things such as jealousy, pride, lust.. And the list goes on.. It seems like its easier to say that we struggle with preaching the gospel or praying or reading the word, and that's why when it comes to the "big sins" we get kind of embarrassed to say them out loud. I personally didn't think I could struggle with this cuz I've never struggled with it ever in my life, but the devil will always try and find a way to make us fall, but with Christ we are victorious and can't be defeated. No matter what the devil tries to bring, we will overcome. And let us not be shy to speak up if we struggle with things as these, because fighting these alone will take much more time than if you told it to a fellow true christian brother or sister. Nah, don't feel ashamed. Shame is pride. But I can tell u every human being deals with pride because pride is the root of all sin. Just different symptoms, but u know we're all sick, and that's alright because we got Christ. He's the focus.
I have a very low self esteem but I still find my self sounded a bit prideful at time my goal is to my humble and peacefull with people I want to be known as that humble guy and not someone with pride. I wish and pray that everyone here find this video helpfull
Same here! At certain points I feel the imposter syndrome when achieving something, while I also feel myself being prideful with what I have. Its confusing.
This is so difficult. Especially for someone who struggles with social anxiety. I accidently say things that put my friends down because I view myself as better at times. My anxiety causes me to just speak my mind without realizing how inconsiderate my statement is until it's already been spoken

I am so performance driven that it can easily become a bondage. Perfectionism is an offshoot of pride and it is exhausting and can leave you as an emotional wreck since your view of yourself fluctuates based on how well you performed. God has been helping me focus that He wants me and not my performance and that has helped me to stop putting pressure on myself and just enjoy my relationship with him. I am a middle child and I had to perform to get attention and love. So eventually ended up believing that God too loves me only when I DO something. So what happened was I finally tried to 'earn' God's love and favour by 'performing' but became too prideful and self-righteous without my knowledge. I was prideful all along that i looked down on others that didn't ' do enough' for God and only I was was mature. Haha! Bad old days! I still struggle with that but God's been helping me to accept His love and not look at my love for Him rather His love for me which cannot be earned. Thanks for the video. I am still in the process of getting out of pride and self-righteousness so keep me in your prayers.
@prof_danieladewole for most people that is almost always the case. Those early years really do shape your belief systems and are deeply ingrained but bless God we are new creations in Christ and we can renew our minds, therefore transforming the way we think. It's not an overnight thing but little by little we can get there

I’ve been praying about gaining the aspects of Humility: like patience and understanding w/ people and being slow to react with irritation and to not judge others. But at the time I didn’t know these were all parts of being Humble, so it’s nice to see those aspects highlighted in the video. ❤
It always amazes me that God incarnate came and LIVED amongst us for 33 heckin years. Amongst our ridiculousness and sin. Amongst people that were so sure they were good and smart. Amongst injustice every day. That is crazier to me than that He was scorned and mocked over like 12 hours. I feel like living with us for 33 years before all that is more than He should have ever had to deal with. But He did, because He loved us.
What I sometimes do when I am faced with temptations and difficult problems, I try to say what would Jesus do? And it helps. Great! I thought myself humble and self pity on myself struggling with sin lust and my faith also lacked but God delivered me from this sin word of God came to me. It's like God asking me where is your faith. All around me word faith comes to me from every where. when Iam turn back to God with believing spirit after watch this vedio Iam realise that there is difference between pride and Godly confidence. Root of every sin is pride and fear.. Iam look down on people, friends, pride of my gifts and talents. I'm too much perfectionist in my work. But that perfectionism exhaust me and I am obsessed, stressed and tensioned and caught into anxiety But God delivered and healed me from all physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Now Iam feel the deep calmness, peace, love and clarity within me and presence of Holy spirit.

Great tips! I’ve struggled with fornication more than anything else but it also goes along with pride. Slowly my prayers became more and more focused with the idea that I can’t fight it and turning around to me rather than God and when that happened, lust became more prevalent and pride alongside it in a way I didn’t recognize it. I dealt with before when it came to my peers and now I feel love for them, but I didn’t recognize it when it came into prayer life until today! I do need prayers to be delivered from fornication though, and I need to turn my eyes back to what the LORD has for me knowing I’ll never be satisfied by lust has been helping too because it reminds me before I fall into it to ask the question of what’s the point and in doing so my heart goes back to God. I know I’m not the only one, but I feel that if you can conquer pride, it will have a domino effect on other fleshly desires as well!
I struggle with pride yet i have low self esteem especially when people try to get close to me. I sometimes view myself as better but also scared that they'll find out my flaws. Ive realised that pride and inferiority complex are ONE. They're not the opposite of each other. Pls pray for me. Im developing social anxiety because of these things. I need GOD's help real bad. I've struggled with thinking that I'm better than most of the CP kids at my school. I've been gifted with book smarts, and I just let that get to my head through comparisons between how I and my CP peers act. It's mainly bad in my Chemistry class, as that's my only CP class whose students can get quite wild. I thought I was fighting it through not accepting my little sibling's compliments, but one of the pastors at my church told me that I was wrong in doing so. This video helped me realize my sin, thank you.

I think it lies in the source. When one is proud the source of our self esteem is in us. We are good (enough). We don't NEED God. Whereas when one is confident, we trust, literally confide in - hopefully - God. If we are confident in ourselves it is also no good. We need to confide in God. If He is the source of our self worth and we truly believe that, it's fine. If we don't actually believe that and we try to earn it - it's not.

So when the time comes that are minds are consumed with thoughts of how great we are, let us instead FOCUS ON WHAT WE CAN DO WHILE WE ARE STILL HERE. I’ve been asking God lately to purge me of anything that would hurt others and he showed me I had pride. He showed me what my pride looked like, specifically. It’s different for everyone and shows up in different ways. I’ve heard that pride likes to hide, but when I tell you I had no idea… The way he showed me was so graceful… it was in the privacy of my home and not in a situation where someone else could see or be affected by me. When he showed me, it shook me to my core… I couldn’t believe it was always right in my face and I didn’t even notice. I thought it was ok, until it made me judge someone in a video that… really didn’t deserve it… There’s a little condescending, arrogant sounding voice that likes to show up all the time in little moments. It talks fast and goes away quickly, but I couldn’t miss it that time… I didn’t even wanna think anymore after that. I highly encourage everyone reading this to ask God to help you overcome pride. Give your pride to him. Don’t ask him to take it. Tell him you’re giving it to him. There’s a difference between the two. He’s a gentlemen. He’s not just gunna take something we’re still holding onto. His hand is open. We have to be the ones to hand it over.
When I'm in any video game with like levels and stuff, if i see a low-level struggling, I would help them because I know I've been there, and I know I needed help. Pride is difficult to handle but in the name of Jesus we can overcome anything.
What God sees in you-what He has freely given you-will always be a better cause of boast than what you have accomplished. You put yourself down, actually, by relying on worldly things for your self-esteem, because the fact that you're a child of God will always be an infinitely better thing.

@OP - it's not even about feeling accomplished. It's more about giving thanks to God for providing you the opportunities and the gifts to be able to do the things you can do. Humility is being able to point back to Him in your success and come to Him in your failures and trust you can do all things through Him who strengthens you.

Ah man, I can’t tell you the exact amount of times I seen myself acting in pride. It’s a struggle most of us share. But the fact you can see you’re struggling with it and even more want to change from it shows the LORD is working in you. You got this ! The struggle is evidence of your faith in Jesus !
I understand you, I struggle with jealousy, and I think we have this mindset that a Christian is supposed to be perfect and can't struggle with things such as jealousy, pride, lust.. And the list goes on..
It seems like its easier to say that we struggle with preaching the gospel or praying or reading the word, and that's why when it comes to the "big sins" we get kind of embarrassed to say them out loud.
I personally didn't think I could struggle with this cuz I've never struggled with it ever in my life, but the devil will always try and find a way to make us fall, but with Christ we are victorious and can't be defeated.
No matter what the devil tries to bring, we will overcome. And let us not be shy to speak up if we struggle with things as these, because fighting these alone will take much more time than if you told it to a fellow true christian brother or sister.

Same here! At certain points I feel the imposter syndrome when achieving something, while I also feel myself being prideful with what I have. Its confusing.
This is so difficult. Especially for someone who struggles with social anxiety. I accidently say things that put my friends down because I view myself as better at times. My anxiety causes me to just speak my mind without realizing how inconsiderate my statement is until it's already been spoken

I am so performance driven that it can easily become a bondage. Perfectionism is an offshoot of pride and it is exhausting and can leave you as an emotional wreck since your view of yourself fluctuates based on how well you performed. God has been helping me focus that He wants me and not my performance and that has helped me to stop putting pressure on myself and just enjoy my relationship with him. I am a middle child and I had to perform to get attention and love. So eventually ended up believing that God too loves me only when I DO something. So what happened was I finally tried to 'earn' God's love and favour by 'performing' but became too prideful and self-righteous without my knowledge.
I was prideful all along that i looked down on others that didn't ' do enough' for God and only I was was mature.
Haha! Bad old days!
I still struggle with that but God's been helping me to accept His love and not look at my love for Him rather His love for me which cannot be earned.

It always amazes me that God incarnate came and LIVED amongst us for 33 heckin years. Amongst our ridiculousness and sin. Amongst people that were so sure they were good and smart. Amongst injustice every day. That is crazier to me than that He was scorned and mocked over like 12 hours. I feel like living with us for 33 years before all that is more than He should have ever had to deal with. But He did, because He loved us.
What I sometimes do when I am faced with temptations and difficult problems, I try to say what would Jesus do? And it helps. Great! I thought myself humble and self pity on myself struggling with sin lust and my faith also lacked but God delivered me from this sin word of God came to me. It's like God asking me where is your faith. All around me word faith comes to me from every where. when Iam turn back to God with believing spirit after watch this vedio Iam realise that there is difference between pride and Godly confidence. Root of every sin is pride and fear.. Iam look down on people, friends, pride of my gifts and talents. I'm too much perfectionist in my work. But that perfectionism exhaust me and I am obsessed, stressed and tensioned and caught into anxiety But God delivered and healed me from all physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Great tips! I’ve struggled with fornication more than anything else but it also goes along with pride. Slowly my prayers became more and more focused with the idea that I can’t fight it and turning around to me rather than God and when that happened, lust became more prevalent and pride alongside it in a way I didn’t recognize it. I dealt with before when it came to my peers and now I feel love for them, but I didn’t recognize it when it came into prayer life until today! I do need prayers to be delivered from fornication though, and I need to turn my eyes back to what the LORD has for me knowing I’ll never be satisfied by lust has been helping too because it reminds me before I fall into it to ask the question of what’s the point and in doing so my heart goes back to God. I know I’m not the only one, but I feel that if you can conquer pride, it will have a domino effect on other fleshly desires as well!

I struggle with pride yet i have low self esteem especially when people try to get close to me. I sometimes view myself as better but also scared that they'll find out my flaws. Ive realised that pride and inferiority complex are ONE. They're not the opposite of each other. Pls pray for me. Im developing social anxiety because of these things. I need GOD's help real bad. I cant even breathe properly in a big gathering like a church because of my anxiety. May God be with you all too.

I've struggled with thinking that I'm better than most of the CP kids at my school. I've been gifted with book smarts, and I just let that get to my head through comparisons between how I and my CP peers act. It's mainly bad in my Chemistry class, as that's my only CP class whose students can get quite wild. I thought I was fighting it through not accepting my little sibling's compliments, but one of the pastors at my church told me that I was wrong in doing so. I think it lies in the source.
When one is proud the source of our self esteem is in us. We are good (enough). We don't NEED God.
Whereas when one is confident, we trust, literally confide in - hopefully - God.
If we are confident in ourselves it is also no good. We need to confide in God. If He is the source of our self worth and we truly believe that, it's fine.
If we don't actually believe that and we try to earn it - it's not.

The way he showed me was so graceful… it was in the privacy of my home and not in a situation where someone else could see or be affected by me.
When he showed me, it shook me to my core… I couldn’t believe it was always right in my face and I didn’t even notice. I thought it was ok, until it made me judge someone in a video that… really didn’t deserve it…
There’s a little condescending, arrogant sounding voice that likes to show up all the time in little moments. It talks fast and goes away quickly, but I couldn’t miss it that time… I didn’t even wanna think anymore after that.
I highly encourage everyone reading this to ask God to help you overcome pride. Give your pride to him. Don’t ask him to take it. Tell him you’re giving it to him.
There’s a difference between the two. He’s a gentlemen. He’s not just gunna take something we’re still holding onto. His hand is open. We have to be the ones to hand it over.

When I'm in any video game with like levels and stuff, if i see a low-level struggling, I would help them because I know I've been there, and I know I needed help. Pride is difficult to handle but in the name of Jesus we can overcome anything.
