How can these things be driven right next to those hay bales and nothing catches fire? Also, I'd like to see one of these engines in a serious modern car. Maybe stretch an Audi R8 and put a rocket nozzel on the back for the flames to spew out.

corvette724 This Packard Bently engine had NOTHING to do with the RR Merlin engine. This Packard 4M2500 was a purpose built PT BOAT engine. designed in the late 30's for the US Navy PT boat, BEFORE Packard had anything to do with the Merlin FYI
Why would they build these things? Massive power, no proper braking power and skinny tyres with massive weight of that engine. Guess the parts were there and someone just had to do it.

I love it, 1,000 -1500 ish horsepower on skinny tyres taken from a 2CV6. This is mental but also pretty awesome.
To start, I am a huge historic car person. That said, seeing these cars really just gives me pure joy.
