A COMPUTER technician has added to his crazy collection of rides by building a full size remote-controlled DeLorean from Back To The Future. The incredible replica from the hit sci-fi franchise, boasts robotic servos that are controlled by a tiny remote. Dutch creator, Bjorn Harms, has an impressive past in this field and was inspired when he watched the films as a youngster. Taking six months of Bjorn’s time, he admits the building process was far from easy - but he is very proud of what he has managed to achieve. Follow him here:

Not even the producers of Back to the Future movie made a RC Dlorean because at the time was hard and expensive....so you made something that even Universal studios and even Steven Spielberg Could do... so you sure can be proud of yourself.
For the ones that dosent know on the scene Doc Brown tested the tone machine with his dog Einstein... that car wasn't RC at all... on the 88mphr scene there was an actor dressed up as a dog..... so man you rock and roll.

Considering that an unmodified Delorean doesn’t’ even have a speedometer that goes past 85mph and that his car has an extra 3,300lbs on it, I doubt he would ever be eligible for speeding ticket.

I wonder if there is a way to make a Delorean sound like the Delorean from Back to the Future. Most people know that Deloreans have engines that sound like lawnmowers, but I wonder if something could be done with the exhaust so it at least sounds like there’s something powerful at the heart of the vehicle.
From what I've read the movie used a Legend Twin Turbo Delorean for the engine sound

im sure you know, it wasnt really remote controlled during filming.. so working flux capacitor next?
im curious about the safety measures though, cant have it responding to radio noise accidently. i assume theres some override disable switch required to actually drive/park the car.

Geweldig man! Ik bouw momenteel een 1:8 versie jij maakt het 1:1 en nog op afstand bestuurbaar ook. Overigens denk ik dat je er ver naast zit qua waarde, ik denk zelfs dat de auto het dubbele waard is dan wat je noemt. Als je ziet wat je al moet neertellen voor een replica zonder afstandbediening, die zijn al fors duurder. Alhoewel ik een echte BTF fan ben heb ik nog nooit een DeLorean (tijdmachine) in het echt gezien…. waar kan ik hem bewonderen? :D ;) MVG Henri

How fast does it go with the RC? From the video it looks like it only goes 10 to 20 MPH.
That's only a function of how far the servo moves the gas pedal
Bjorn Harms - That's exactly my point that as long as the servo mech can move the throttle there is no inherent limitation to speed simply because it's RC - apart from Tx range
