Actually ... if we're being technical ... the American actor BARRY NELSON was the first JAMES BOND when they did a TV version of CASINO ROYALE ... and they called his character, 'Jimmy Bond.'
Lucky me, I also worked in Locations in the San Francisco sequences on Mr. Moore's last outing as 007, on A VIEW TO A KILL.
Fun Fact: DAVID BOWIE was originally slated to play the baddie, MAX ZORN ... but he wanted 'script approval' to which Cubby Broccoli said, No thanks.' And so, Mr. Walken, got the part. It was interesting though that many of the storyboards had Mr. Bowie's face.

What was so sad about Desmond was that his car accident happened on his way home from seeing his Alzheimers afflicted wife in a care home; really tragic that.

I'm surprised Tanya Roberts is not mentioned on this list. I find hers to be especially tragic because of the false hope surrounding it: prematurely announced dead, the premature announcement corrected during her boyfriend's live interview, then she dies for real so soon after. Not to mention the COVID-19 restrictions meant she and her boyfriend were mostly unable to see each other whilst she was in intensive care.

Trivia question: Where did Ian Fleming get the name of his character James Bond?
Answer: Fleming was a typical British bird watcher, and the field guide he used at Goldeneye, his estate in Jamaica, was “Birds of the West Indies” written by the curator of birds at the Philadelphia Academy of Natural Science. The name of the author? James Bond. As Fleming explained in his autobiography, he walked into the kitchen one morning and the field guide was on the table. He looked at the book and chose the author’s name for his character. In the film Die Another Day, Bond picks up a book and looks it over. The book was an original edition of “Birds of the West Indies.” Don’t we just love how the writers get the trivia into their films?

Pictured is the wonderful Diana Rigg. Yes, she died last year, of cancer. But given that she was 82 and Ill, i would not class her passing as a ‘tragic’ death but one of inevitable mortality.

No Robert Shaw. No Christopher Lee. No Kurt Jurgens. No Michael Lonsdale. No Louis Jordan. What kind of dumb list is this without some of the best Bond villians. Not to mention Roger and Sean are also mysteriously omitted. As are a few Bond girls.

I had an idea for a Sean Connery cameo in a Daniel Craig Bond Movie..... Craig goes into a English Gentle persons club (progress, instead of a gentlemen's club) Craig walks into the club and walks past Mr. Connery who's sitting in a wingback chair, reading a newspaper. He peaks over his paper, smiles, then winks at Craig....... talk about a special moment! I like ALL the bond films! Especially the bad guys.

The number one Villain in the Bond movies will always be Odd Job and Grant in second place. They both were stronger than Bond and presented Bond with an opponent he would have to use his wits to defeat not just his physical strength!!!!!
