I am overwhelmed by emotions as tears fall down my cheeks! I was born and raised in Minneapolis. This Police Department has rid itself of its toxic antics and the officers who are left are wonderful. This officer died trying to render aid to a man that would ultimately decide to ambush him! I pray for the Mitchell family and the officers that make our everyday better! The community here is thankful everyday for our police officers/department. You are needed and appreciated. This community is slowly recovering from the status quo of Minneapolis policing so this truly is heartbreaking and is an eye opening tragedy. CLOSE TO HEART AND HOME 💔

Officer Mitchell made the ultimate sacrifice, he died in the line of duty while protecting and serving this community and should be considered a hero. I just don’t believe some people are as humbled as they act… funny how police will do all of this for a black slain officer, but will not hesitate to kill a black man or boy while walking, or walking and eating skittles.
Why are they making his funeral lool like a military funeral. He was prob. (I could be wrong) harassing the wrong person. Sucks a man died but there isn't a lot of people that will kill a person for no reason.
Yes, obviously you are wrong! Did you even watch the news or read the circumstances surrounding this line of duty death? This officer was killed as he attempted to render medical aid to the suspect, the man who already murdered two men, then physically assaulted and attempted to steal another man’s scooter. Please educate yourself and then remove your offensive comment. How dare you sully this young officer’s reputation after he made the ultimate sacrifice, he died while serving and protecting his community. What significant contributions or sacrifices have you made to and for our society?
