nobody told me about this shayk until I stumbled on him on the Islamic channel once and ever since I don't wanna listen to any other person recitation but his. may Allah reward him for the healing power in his recital voice..

Masha'allah, I had the opportunity to listen to Sheikh Abu Bakr Al-Shatri live when he came to my uni to recite 2/3 years ago. Subhana'Allah his voice gave me shudders and I was in tears. May Allah swt reward him ameen.

No, some say a man is not allowed to recite in a tone which sounds like a ladys voice. When i said to this maulana that i liked this guys recitation, this is what he said to me. I think he meant if u have a manly voice then u shouldn't recite with a high pitched voice. Allah knows best.

عن أبي سعيد الخدري رضي الله عنه أن رجلا جاءه، فقال: أوصني، فقال: ((سألتني عما سألت عنه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من قبلك، أوصيك بتقوى الله فانه رأس كل شيء، وعليك بالجهاد فإنها رهبانية الاسلام، وعليك بذكر الله وتلاوة القرآن فانه روحك في السماء وذكرك في الأرض))
وَمَا كُنتَ تَرْجُو أَن يُلْقَىٰ إِلَيْكَ الْكِتَابُ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۖ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ ظَهِيرًا لِّلْكَافِرِينَ (86)
