My dance partner and I were the first Ever Indian Debutants to be part of the opening ceremony of the 60th Vienna Operaball, 2016 - and we performed the Viennese Waltz! It's Ball Season in Vienna and being part of this fairy-tale evening brings back so many memories! :) We were placed in the second row from the front (first couple from the left!) - and were introduced by the press as the debutants from Mumbai (Time stamp - 03:58 )
The Vienna Opera Ball, set "in the most beautiful ballroom in the world" - the Vienna Opera House - is the official State Ball of the Republic of Austria. It also aims to celebrate the artists of the Vienna State Opera in one magical night.
But while the evening is fleeting - hundreds of thousands of people tune in to watch the dance played out from living rooms across the globe.
Placido Domingo, Olga Peretyatko were the opera singers performing that evening. The guest list featured American actress Brooke Shields and model Pamela Anderson, as well as Austria's political elite, including Chancellor Werner Faymann.

Choregraphie brillantissime, seuls les viennois ont su maintenir cette tradition. Perfecto.
Absolument! Nous avons déjà beaucoup pratiqué notre valse viennoise avant de partir d'Inde, mais après notre arrivée à Vienne nous avons eu beaucoup de répétitions pour perfectionner les formations chorégraphiques de la cérémonie et de la polka !
Nous avons eu la chance que le maître du ballon nous apprécie suffisamment pour nous attribuer une place devant les lignes et non à l'arrière parmi les autres débutants internationaux. (Mais la première rangée absolue devait être constituée de débutants issus de familles viennoises établies - nous étions donc au deuxième rang !)
Plus tard, ils ont également déclaré avoir découvert que c'était la première fois qu'ils avaient des membres débutants en Inde ! c'était magique ! ✨
@@shaktipherwani La musique et la danse exige la perfection, et dans ce cas de maîtriser le registre musical et les differentes danses. Un travail réclamant des heures de répétition.
Combien de temps avez vous du vous inscrire ? Et sut quels critères sont retenus les couples ?
@@hortensiablanc4352Veuillez m'excuser, j'ai raté votre réponse - Nous avions répété en Inde depuis quelques mois car nous avions déjà organisé ici un bal viennois près du consulat - et c'est ainsi que l'idée est venue d'aller au bal à Vienne. Il est relativement plus facile de tourner à droite - mais faire celui à gauche selon les besoins dans le ballon est un peu difficile car on ne peut pas avoir le vertige :D

So, the physical setting . . .are those two opera houses back to back with each other -- and they tear down the separating back walls to make them on long chamber??
Hey! Thanks for your comment. No they actually build the dance floor over the seats in the opera house. There's a video on TH-cam somewhere which shows how Wiener staatsoper converts into a massive ballroom. ;)
