Seeing all the little touches in Galar such as the cheering, the Galar region pokemon, the way the gym leaders speech was written to reflect the different local accents, the pokemon centres inspired by our pubs, all of it made me feel like this is exactly what england/the uk would be like

I think that I would be curious if the anime could build that out more. And rather than choosing the ghost or fighting gym to be in the majors, I would not be against Bea and Allister being common cast members, with maybe an affiliation to their gyms in the minors, just like Lana, Kiawe, Mallow and Sophocles in the Sun and Moon anime.
My problem is that real world cheering is not this discordant. Real cheering is actually very true to the key they sing in. Just listen to the Queen Live Aid concert for an example.
It's weird and honestly makes me feel uncomfortable. Makes me think of creepy cult shit. A bunch of people singing in unison, as if they were one. Complete loss of ego.
What I like about it is the chanting really brought out the feeling that pokemon battles were actual sporting events in the world rather than going to a gym leader and fighting in lifeless room then leaving. The game builds up to these MASSIVE arena events and when the people start chanting, be it FOR you or AGAINST you, you have that feeling that you need to do some cool shit to pull a win out. Super satisfying.
I loved the cutscene where all the gym leaders enter the arena for the same reason - you get the feeling that these are pretty much the equivalent to pro athletes, and that they're characters in the world rather than just some guy tucked away in a weird building you meet and fight once and never see again.
I sometimes just forget to dynamax my last pokemon bc the battles after finishing the main story line are just so easy, that I forget that opponents dynamax their last pokemon

i cant be the only person who says that this game made them actually feel special. like every past pokémon game you just beat the champion and put ur pokémon in the hall of fame, no big. this was legit. like you feel like you earned your title more, plus everyone addresses you as champion and unlike older games where you just refight the old champion, you get to be the champion and fight to defend your title. pretty sick. also the chant at 0:30 is always stuck in my head

This music can evoke different feelings depending on the situation. If you have the upper hand, it feels great and reassuring because it sounds like the crowd is on your side. When your enemy has the upper hand, it sounds more like a taunt to annoy you.

This game made me really love Pokémon. The atmosphere was always so electric, the animation was sharp and flawless, and best of all, it had one of the best rivals, hop, to channel all the sharp sparks into your entire adventure.
Imo when I first heard this chant or the chant you hear in Wyndon stadium after becoming champion, :30 I felt like a wave or sea was carrying me through the melody and empowering me to fight harder than I ever imagined before. Like I swear, there was a whole ocean of strength surrounding me, pushing me to go on and give it my absolute all against. Plus it's so much more motivating, because the feeling of a wave or current carrying you to victory? That truly motivates me. I truly hope we get more amazing games like SW SH in the near future!! :)
Pokemon shield is actually my first Pokemon game (put it off for years, never thought it was appealing) and its honestly SUCH a great first game to get hooked on. when i heard this song for the first time especially the chanting , i got so pumped even if it was easy ASF.
