My Dad was a US Navy Korean war veteran. He didn't talk much about it. He worked 2 full time jobs and only slept 3 hours a night. My childhood job was to wake him after those 3 hours. Terrible job at the time. I signed my name to join the the Navy in 1980 and went to boot camp in September of 1981 and it was the 1st time I saw my Dad cry. February 23 of 1982 he died from heart problems. He was 48. My sister Joyce told me he loved this song.
My condolences for the loss of your father so many years ago. He sounds a remarkable and impressive man who loved his family so much he wanted the best for you all. Thank you for your service which your father no doubt inspired in you.
So true - they 4 people working as one. In fact, when the drummer John Bonham died, they had no choice but to end - and that would have applied no matter which member passed away or left the band
“Upon us all, a little rain must fall.” Zeppelin definitely deals in emotions. Glad you enjoyed it. I highly suggest listening to the live version from MSG 73, it’s just as good, if not better.
Such great reactions, guys! Ten Years Gone Down by the Seaside In the Light ... those 3 songs (all from Physical Graffiti) are going to take you to a whole new level of Led Zeppelin!! ... Ten Years Gone is, in my opinion, the best rock song ever penned! I can't wait until you do these three!!
All four are amazing musicians. Individually, they are amazingly accomplished. As a band - unworldly.... I still cry at the sound and am amazed how emotionally they make.... 53 years after first hearing them, still a massive fan. Thank you for enjoying musicians at their very best, and as a band. Brilliant.... Peace and love.
Never underestimate the power that music has to take you to places, emotionally, thoughtfully and in ways that you previously never thought you would go. And it does it all in a matter of minutes. It is one of the most powerful forces in our lives and, as a musician of over 50 years, that has never escaped me and I feel a sense of honor when I am able to pick up my guitar and play.
Enjoying the virtuosity of John Paul Jones bass, piano and mellotron for the orchestration. He does that all live too, playing the bass parts with his feet!
The organist at our church when I was a kid , as do most still today, played/play the bass line with their feet. The organs are built that way, for centuries.
Hello guys. Buckle up for this trip, you will go around the world and back again. The GOATS could play any style. Love your reactions my favorite couple!!
THE ALL TIME GOATS! None better! 😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 You guys should do Zeppelin song one, album one, and work your way through. Do this song live from MSG 1973! This to me is one of the greatest love songs of all time!
The live version from MSG has a fantasy sequence that Dominica will LOVE. 😁😉. The most beautiful live performance as far as Jimmy’s playing was from the Page and Plant unleaded tour ….1995. A perfect performance and utterly sublime to watch him play it.
Yay! You finally got to this great song. Next great song: Ten Years Gone. And yes, you hit the nail perfectly: Led Zeppelin could not exist without one of them. Which is exactly why, when John Bonham the drummer passed in 1980, Led Zeppelin did not continue.
Also LUV **Ten Years Gone** very muchly tho for me my fav **Zep** song is whichever one i am listening to at that particular moment heh **PixieHugz&Luvz**
live at msg the song remains the same and rain song , my fav live piece of excellence thank george harrison for this , asking wy zep dont do ballads. page even uses the opening with chords from a harrison song
Zep was a huge part of my youth… my first car, my first girlfriend…. My early guitar playing….?staying out all night listening to this at dawn … poor couple just discovered them as grown ups 😢
You two have quickly become my favorite reactors, to my favorite band for over 50 yrs. I adore you both, and Arnold too. You are such a beautiful couple and your love for each other is truly something to behold - your reaction to "Thank You" had me in tears! I look forward to continuing your Led Zeppelin journey with you. I thank you both so much for your heartfelt reactions!
The reason Led Zepplin disbanded was the death of John Bonham (the drummer). The surviving members decided that they could never get that magic back and if they did it would not be Led Zepplin. in my opinion it is a horrible shame, that the so few of the following generations remember this music but also it not possible in todays world to have the live concert experience where your entire body experiences the song not hear it.
Never actually listened to this closely before. Very nice. Thanks for reacting to it! You guys have commented several times at how varied Led Zeppelin’s catalogue of music is. This puts an exclamation point on that.
Yep, it was like some kind of cosmic event had occurred the day these four incredibly gifted guys banded together. There were/are a lot of excellent rock bands out there, but none had/have ever been able to capture the magic of Led Zeppelin. Thanks for reacting to one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs. I enjoy your reactions a lot. :)
You guys are an awesomely, beautiful couple! Thank you for reacting to my generations favorite band and the greatest collection of musicians of all time !
Hello you two lovely people, a great reaction to my favourite band ever, I'm a English man Billy from England 67year old rock fan, I discovered the mighty zeppelin when I was about 12/13,since then I have every album, watched every film or documentary on them and read every book written, Jimmy page and John Paul Jones were both the very best session players probably in the world at the time, between them they played on songs by Shirley bassey the James bond theme song she sang,on the who's songs, the kinks, practically all of them back then, in most rock music fans opinions they are simply the best band ever, the records they broke were well all records, one last point, when they split in 1980/81 by then they had released 10 albums, so when they split all ten went into the top 100 album charts at the same time,so this particular track is my all time favourite from them, but the live version from madison Square gardens new York, most people when hearing it for the first time think there's a orchestra or something but in fact it's John Paul Jones who plays bass guitar is playing a melatonin keyboard and playing bass with his feet how good is that, when I get buried I'm having the live version played at my funeral, so if I can will you please react to the live version of the rain song either from the madison show as that one has the best sound, but the video of it is ruined by the dream sequence, so I suggest the live album version from madison, or the live version from earls Court London with the film with it, both amazing but sound is best on the live album version, anyway you both take care keep up the great work English Billy
Hey there you TWO, I recently found your channel, so here I am. As you two already know, you can NOT go wrong with Led Zeppelin. Their vault of music is massive, Fort Knox big! May I suggest you all locate and review the acoustic versions of these masterpieces! You will NOT be sorry. Time well spent!! I so enjoyed how your wife would smile and glance over at you. Mr. John Paul Jones is on the keyboards on this one and he is doing the bass part with floor pedals. All four of them were from another world!!! Robert's son died very young while Robert was on tour. I have four children AND I cannot fathom losing one!! Lady, to build on your comment. Rumor states Zeppelin never performed a song the same. Each version is different! Take care........................................... Have a great New YEAR!!!!!
Jimmy’s playing this song gets me every time. Especially on the Page & Plant Tour. There’s a video on a 80thisvelvetglove I believe you will enjoy watching them play it live.
I see you reacted to Stairway to Heaven, please do the Live MSG 73 version. It really is astounding and brought it back to life in my heart. Not to mention they look great too 😉
**Lovely** once again it is so very awesome to see you both getting the **Feels** that i also get from their songs...**Music Can Change The World** (i still believe i know its silly but eh) **Thank YOU** **ManyPixieHugz&LuvzToALL**

Chillbumps every time. The true majesty of this song is revealed in the live Madison Square Garden 1973 performance where The Song Remains the Same segues The Rain Song. Just beautiful and it shows their performing and instrumental prowess.
You got it it’s the ups and downs of relationships just the way they ended it. Upon us all just a little rain must fall. Was waiting for this reaction from you guys I think this is the most beautiful song ever
I searched your Led Zeppelin anaysis and noticed you had not done 'Babe, I'm Going To Leave You'. This is truly amazing for vocals as well guitar. Jimmy Page layers many different guitar solos on this. Make sure to do the studio recorded version of this to get the full appreciation.
Ya'll reminded me of when i first listened to this album in 1977 (i was only 15 - one of my first album purchases) - blew me away then and you reminded me of that feeling in watching your reaction...thanks!!
I love your take on all thes different styles of music. You both are so easy to listen & comment on just about any style of music. If only everyone on this planet could be so open to new influence & ideas!
the rain song couldn't have a more appropriate name. the emotion and feeling in it is so tranquil. you are right when john Bonham passed the band ended, they new the magic was ending as a band.
Such a beautiful poetic song. Beautiful instrumental arrangement. George Harrison of the Beatles asked why they don't do ballads when at a birthday party with John Bonham the drummer, and this song was their response to that criticism/observation from Harrison. Stunning beautiful ballad. The live version AT MSG 1973 is definitely worth a listen/reaction.
Glad to see you both started w/ the ORIGINAL RECORDED version... Now I know you're going to listen to the '73/MSG version which I feel is superior (even though RS is not a LZ tune I like much) LZ always has trick or two LIVE. Peace to you BOTH this Holiday season.
Hey guys hope you are doing well Hi Arnold I see you there in the background just wanted to drop a note to say I love your reactions I'm sort of jealous in a way that you are hearing songs from led Zeppelin that I e been listening to for years what a joy it must to discover their music looking forward to seeing more of you two have a wonderful day you too Arnold 😊
What kind of dog is that? It's so cute. I must find one and hug one. Also, glad you guys liked the song! One of my favorites of theirs; And in general.

As the story goes...George Harrison told someone in Led Zep that they "don't do any ballads." Page responded with this gem. (I keep one guitar tuned to this special tuning, for when I need to play it.)
How much poorer would we be without Led Zeppelin? So much power and beauty.
JPJ on keyboards, bass (with pedals), and Mellotron for orchestral sounds really holds this song together. So beautiful.
JPJ....yes in a live concert. This is the studio recording where he actually plays the Bass Guitar.

So… do you play the standard tuning “fake” way like I do, or retune for the “legitimate” way? 😂
Standard is how i learned and play The open tunning is easier But there was no youtube back then to learn@@sthubbins4038
