Being gay was illegal in the UK,the people changed that by demanding decriminalisation! The gay people of the countries they were born in should fight to change their laws, like we had to!

@user-mt4ej3rp4y The transatlantic slave trade began with Spain and Portugal in the 1530s. England joined in in the 1660s. But abolished the trade in 1807. Stopping other countries too by 1860. The main invasions of Africa were between 1850 and 1900.
      So neither was 500 years.
Plus, the enslavement was done by other Africans. Europeans provided the shipping as Africa was too backward to build a three masted sailing ship.
The Arab slave trade was much bigger and lasted much longer.

I live in an area where there’s a high number of asylum seekers, most of the pubs and hotels have been closed to house them ( mainly single men). Our town centre has become a no go zone because the well organised gangs are pick pocketing from the elderly, disabled and young mums with prams who are occupied and distracted. I’ve paid and worked all my life but when my partner needed an urgent consultant referral before he could be put in Parkinson’s medications they sent the appointment through for SIX MONTHS time 2024! Our children who were born and raised in uk are moving out of their birthplace to rent/buy up north because they don’t stand a chance on the council waiting list! If they are gay, no. If they are gay and discriminated against, no. If they are gay and persecuted, yes. Its important here to remember that people are discriminated against, for a host of reasons, all over the world, all the time. For example, in recent years Greater Manchester Police advertised career opportunities for which heterosexual white males were banned from applying. In other words, the government (in the form of Greater Manchester Police) openly discriminated against white heterosexual males. Were these men persecuted by the UK government? No. Were they openly discriminated against? Yes.

Considering there is a large contingent of a certain religious group who believe being gay can be cured with an impromptu flying lesson from a tall building, I don't think this is a wise claim to make on the off chance you get to stay. Especially considering you'll probably be placed in a hotel full of people with the same view. 😂

Please tell your activist guest that being gay has nothing to do with gender identity, so the term ‘LGBT’ is completely pointless.
