Drop your top 40 or 20 or 10 or 1 in the comments.
-Stay Heavy,
Patrick
A lot of great music in your top 40 Patrick. Necrot did a killer job on the new album. Very surprised to see Slimelord on top, great album, was close to my top 20 DM, but not one I returned to enough. Have to give it more spins. Have a great new Metal year. Cheers. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Slimelord is my number one for 2024 as well. That album is a trip. I love the concept as well as the really diverse mix of sounds that come together so well. I’ve also found that Blood Incantation has not held my interest the way I thought it would. Great list, Patrick! Happy New Year. 🍻
Hey Nate. Good to hear from ya. Yeah, SlimeLord has SO many cool sounds. I find the replayabilty of it very high.
@@heavytherapyyeah, i think the Blood Incantation album is very accessible whereas the Slimelord record has many layers that peel away after each listen. Good choice for number 1 pick 🤘🏻
Awesome to see Ripped to Shreds on there. Just subbed. Great stuff man
hey, Patrick...I just wanted to thank you for pointing me in the direction of that Atræ Bilis album...I don't delve deep enough into the "tech death" subgenre as much as I should, so this was a welcome surprise. Cheers!...also, I am really enjoying that Slimelord album...as for Full Of Hell, I must admit...I'm rarely "in the mood" to listen to any form of grind...I have my reasons...but I checked out "Coagulated Bliss," and I must say I was pleasantly surprised...you are so right about the vocal performance...that sold it for me. I found some cool stuff within your top 40 this year. Thanks for sharing your choices.
@patrickmurphy4297 Hey Patrick! Messages like these are the reason I love to make videos. Spreading killer music and helping people discover new bands. Thanks for checking out my videos! Happy New Year
Hello. I really appreciate this video and your comments. I'll try to listen to the ones from bands I don't know yet. Thanks for the "recommendations." Heavy New Year!!! 🤘🏻 Greetings from Brasil.
Hello from Portugal 🤘🤘 loved your list! Refined taste for music.
My top 10:
Mitochondrion
Blood incantation
Gaerea
Bedsore
Nile
Monte penumbra
Unto others
Ulcerate
Bruce dickinson
Dark tranquility
That Slimelord album really is pretty wild. Very different and formless stuff. Nice pick!
Cool list! Cheers from Minnesota 🤘 My #1.) Blood Incantation 🪐🛸👽🛰️☄️
Cheers, Brandon. Appreciate the watch. Blood Incantation is on everyone's list!
tove you picks Patrick. You still have the best taste.
That blood encantation album art is so cool
@@foxmoulder7724 It is very cool! Thanks for watching!
Totally feel the push and pull of the Blood Incantation album. I haven’t really ever been sold on them but Absolute Elsewhere was a lot more accessible for me and has me more interested in their earlier albums. Such a cool band to be getting attention like they are.
@LikeWhatYouLikeMusic The other albums are less accessible, which Mayne is why I like them more because they are heavier, and less progressive rock.
Thank you for another year of talking and showing stuff! Some album I enjoyed, that are not mentioned so much on the yearlistst, are:
Living Gate - Suffer as one (Relapse)
Pestilength - Solar clorex (Debemur Morti)
Apparition (US) - Disgraced emanations… (Profound Lore)
Houwitser - Sentinel beast (Vidar). Dutch band with original Sinister vocalist.
Uttertomb - Nebulas of self-desecration (Pulverised)
Vile Rites - Senescence (Carbonized)
Teeth - The will of hate (Translation Loss)
Fecundation - Moribund (Obliteration) South Korea band, super brutal.
Pourriture - Asap Hitam Kons… (Brutal Mind). Indonesia band, brutal, monster riffs,
Into The Ashes - Consumed by the… (Pathologically Explicit). Brutal stuff
Carnophage - Mattter of a darker… (Transcending Obscurity). Turkish band, crushing.
Check em out, maniacs!
@maikelvoors9348 Hey! Thanks for watching and posting your list. Killer stuff here. I need to revisit Living Gate, and Teeth. I have Vile Rites on tape. It just missed my top 40. Apparition made it.
Necrot are the real descendants of osdm 80s scene
Ain't that the truth.
Agree with you re Ulcerate. Where do they go from here? For something different, I reckon they go for the one track album.
DISTROYER by NAGASAKI SUNRISE came out in December, so not much time to fester... but I can't think of anything I like better right now
Great 2024 list my dude. Seeing as you enjoy some black metal if youd have any interest in reviewing or doing anything with our debut EP we would love to have you check it out. We are a fairly new band out of Oregon.
Hey Velothian! I will check our your EP for sure. The cover art is so good.
@heavytherapy Awesome! Yeah we are stoked with how the cover art turned out. If you need anything from us just holler, can get you a code to download for free on Bandcamp if you reach the stream limit.

I never saw Slimelord coming but I can see why it ranked so high.
Excellent top 10. I’m obviously not a fan of the new Blood Incantation album but I didn’t enjoy the Tomb Mold album either. I am glad they didn’t bring that stuff into the Spectral Voice album.
It’s been a great year for music. I wish you and yours the best for 2025. I appreciate you man! Cheers
Loved your list and your honesty about your feelings towards certain albums here (interesting take on Absolute Elsewhere). New subscriber here !
i was afraid nile will be #1, but slimelord warmed my heart, nile not even top 40, that's my man.
@@trapeznik To be fair, I only listened to the new Nile once. I have no memory of why I didn't go back. All my friends on here love it, so I do plan on going back to it.
I don't have a hot take on the new Blood Incantation album. It's on my top 10. Possibly my top 5. Though not my top 3.
Yeah, it's becoming polarizing it looks like. Great band, good people, amazing live performers, too. Def see them live if you ever get the chance! Cheers.
@heavytherapy I have and they were great indeed. I also saw Necrot recently as well.
@@benng4376 That's awesome!
Let's make death metal great again
