  • Decided to call it quits at John O' Groats. If I'm honest, I was finding it too difficult, by that I mean the grief side of things. I'm missing Sarah so much and I was struggling to cope. Plan to finish it off around the 29th July all going well.

Just found your videos and been a very keen biker for 50 years.
Lost my beautiful wife 22 months ago to ovarian cancer.
    Multiple chemotherapy treatments and surgeries.
2 years into her 6 year battle she had a stroke and became wheelchair bound.
I was there holding her hand in the hospice when she took her last breath and my
two sons were standing at the bottom of the bed.
I definitely understand your grief and it can be overwhelming at times
Got a Kawasaki Ninja 1000s to keep me smiling though and 5 grandkids. ❤

Thank you for sharing. I was holding my wife's hand also, she was home for 3 days as that's where she wanted to be in the end. I feel like life has stopped, but she wanted me to finish all the things we planned over the years, so I've got lots to get through! Thanks again for your support 🙏

I randomly came across your vids by means of researching a long-planned trip around the top of Scotland. My sincere condolences. Also, I have such respect for your head-on dealing with your situation. All the very best in your journeys -I will continue to follow your travels and the other big journey in life.

Good bless and watch over you. I was told in October my wife had aggressive cancer and likely only had weeks having been together nearly 50 years I had no idea what to do, but 7 months in hospital she is home, I prayed and joined local church it helped put things in perspective

Life can be a real bitch at times, you have my sincere sympathy.
I stayed away from people/friends for some time to get over the grief after losing my wife. My dog helped me though, just by being there, worst day was when I had to get the vet to put her to sleep a couple of years ago.
I have a question for you, what do you think of the Lone Rider tent and 'bike shed' does it fit down small enough for carrying on the bike okay along with the other gear needed ? Unfortunately mine now is a Royal Enfield 350 Classic and carrying camping gear is a struggle, as I've just found out.

Hi there, thanks for the comment 🙏 The tent sits on my pillion seat and is attached to the overlander box via straps, so far it’s been great, not the smallest though, but manageable. I’ve only used the garage once and the RT fits fine, I use it as living space which works a treat. If I’m honest I don’t know much about the Royal Enfield, there are certainly lighter tents, but if you want to be able to stretch your legs and stand up, the LR Mototent fits the bill nicely :)I’d like to add, I’m sorry about your wife too, absolutely devastating 😔

Hard very hard. Time is not a healer. We just have to adjust and learn how to live differently. Thinking of you. X

That’s how I feel, Will never “move on” or “get over it” as I’ve heard so many times, just learn to live a different life 😞 Thanks for the comment ❤️

You're doing great! Deal with it the way you want to and need to. Everyone deals with grief differently. And hey, at least you tried doing it, and you can still do it at a later date, though. Remember you have friends and family who love you though ❤

I was in Newtonmore a few years ago and got talking to the wife of a guy who drives a gritting lorry over Drumochter. She told me that in the worst snow the road needs to be gritted as frequently as every TEN minutes or it becomes impassable!

Firstly, let me say sorry to hear that your wife passed on, but equally let me congratulate you on making the decision to continue with your passions. To make the decision to return home was as important from a safety point of view as from an emotional one. You were not in the right frame of mind, and you recognized it.
Get back out there when you are ready.
First time I’ve come across your videos, but look forward to see more in future. Stay well Sir
