I don't think I'd be scared or sad if I were dying... but it would be nice to have a guide, true...
I certainly don't yearn for death, or long for it. I don't know why, but I've never been afraid of it. I don't want it to be agonizingly painful...or scary...but even if it is, that ends. My faith tells me that life continues after death, but even if I were wrong, I know death means the end of out earthly thoughts and suffering.
The only fear I really do have is that my death is in some way traumatic to the living. I don't think so highly of myself to imagine that those I loved and that loved me couldn't go on after I died...what I mean is that if somehow the way I died was gruesome or haunting, etc.
I would not want my passing to be the reason that someone couldn't sleep at night, whether they knew me or not.
