Great video! I loved watching it because I am latina myself, would you say there are a lot of latinos? It’s something very important to me because I want to have people that follow the same culture.
Any of you attending Loyola, if you're going into law or something that requires a poly science pre req, take Professor Danford's class in Political Theory, he graduated from Yale, He's tough as nails, his tests aren't per se easy, but you'll have a brutal and honest assessment about yourself when you deal with his class. He'll make you be honest with yourself about what type of student you are at LUC. He has a great sense of humor, it's dry, but funny, but he can also be a bit arrogant, by that I mean he doesn't really allow you to have an opinion in his class but he does do Q &A style Lecture and teaching. He isn't for the weak hearted
hi! this was a great video- i’m considering going next year & i’m very excited!! i was just wondering, is there an advantage to taking the shuttle downtown over the L? i’m going to major in education so (from what i know) the school is downtown and i’d be going there often :) thank you!!
Grace M hi! I’m glad you enjoyed the video! So I really like the shuttle bc it’s more comfortable and convenient however wait times can be a bit longer than the L. We have a tracking system so after a few weeks you get the general times down. From what I know only the School of Communications, Business, and Law are at the Water Tower campus but don’t quote me on that haha
Hi I just got accepted into Loyola! How’s the student body, is it diverse? Are there any parties? Is there a variety of different personalities? I come from Columbia and the people there were super closed off and snarky.
Jakelin Costilla hey! Thanks for your comment:) I would say the student body is pretty diverse! I’m an international student as well and the international community is really big!
Hi, Im really hoping to attend Loyola next year, but I’m still worried about the cost. Are there extra scholarship and work study opportunities you can get after freshman year?
Katherine Mazzanti hi there! Thanks for your question, if I’m being quite honest I’m not to sure what the answer to your question is in terms of additional scholarships BUT I do know that a grand majority of on campus jobs are work study! Hope that helps:)
You mentioned that in your freshmen year, despite living in dorms and having a meal plan, you cooked your own food? Do the dorms have a FULL kitchen on each floor or something like that?
Kianna Fraga I shared it with the whole dorm! I believe all freshmen dorms have a common area with a full kitchen, some might even have more than one kitchen depending on the dorm!
Ohh okay i get it now! That makes sense. Despite sharing with so many people did you find it easy to cook when you wanted to without having to wait very long for others to finish?
hey! i’m a junior high school and i’m currently looking into colleges and loyola is one of my first choices. although you’re a transfer student, did you take any standardized tests like the ACT or SAT? if so, what were your scores? i love your videos btw, they’re very helpful 💕
Hey! Thanks for commenting and watching! So I’m not a transfer student haha so I did take both SAT AND ACT, people attending loyola I know have scores between 1100-1400. From what I know lots of different elements play into your application. Let me know if you have more questions!
hey girly, i got accepted into loyola and my weighted gpa was a 3.86 and my SAT was an 1180. i live in california so idk if that had any affect on my admission.
Ariana Rios-Corral great question! There’s actually a handful of transfer students that I’ve gotten to know, I’m not entirely sure if they have more requirements but I do know that in terms of credits sometimes it can get tricky and one might have to take a class to fulfill those credits.
BS in Criminal Justice 13' LUC Alumnus here. What she is saying is pretty accurate. The Damen Cemter was freshly built as of 2013 when I graduated. It has a movie theatre inside and billiard tables in the basement lounge area. Loyola is NOT a party school at all. Most of that will happen off campus. Loyola students are mostly politically Liberal. However, it's not an activist campus. Greek life, if you're expecting Greek letter jackets, they're there, but not enough to notice. If you're expecting to see strolling and step shows that won't happen at Loyola. All of the black greek life is chartered. I was pissed about that. The school is crazy expensive, even for In state students. However, it's definitely for the more serious students. They have been steadily moving up the school tier rankings. For years, they hovered in the Tier 3 or Tier 4 range. Now they're hovering Tier 2 and Tier 3. One thing I'll say, they to find out the political view of the teacher. When you write an essay that requires a political opinion, base it on his or view and not yours. If you know you're professor is Liberal, and you're Republican don't respond with a "keep it real" Republican response say what he or she wants to hear
hey i’m trying to attend loyola in the fall but the only issue if the price :( do you know how people are able to get it down to a reasonable cost? thanks so much
Hi there! For me my scholarship given by Loyola helped me heavily reduce the price, in addition there are many on campus (and off) that help me pay for school:) hope that helped
Do you think majoring in Comm Studies is wise if I plan to work in PR? I just think by choosing Comm Studies in LUC it gives me a wider range of work field if I change my mind. What do you think??? pls help lol
Sofia Chamat I would say you have a lot of flexibility within the ad/pr major and can always take additional comm classes if needed? It comes down to what you’re more interested I would say. Comm studies is more about theory and ad/pr is more “hands-on”
Would you say Political Science is more on the harder or easier side for like classes and work? Also can we dm you with more question on the YT insta?? THANK YOU💗
I want to attend, but I’m concerned with the gender ratio. Is it really just mainly girls and gay men? I’m not looking for a relationship, I just prefer for there to be a balance.
Crystal Zamora Loyola does not have different in state/out of state tuition actually since it’s a private school! As far as tuition, this pretty much just includes your classes tbh.
S Bramhall great question! I think it really depends on what you’re looking for...for me I loved living in Mertz bc it was very social and I lived very close to all my friends but each dorm has it’s own perks!!
Not to be negative but mertz is actually horrendous. But, it's the cheapest freshman dorm, so you get what you pay for really. The only three elevators (for 800 people and 19 floors btw) keep breaking and at one point all three were down. It's just a mess, I wouldn't recommend living there unless you can't afford to live in the other dorms (which is why I got stuck at mertz). De nobili and Simpson are nice. This is just my opinion though, I'm sure some people, like Paulina, enjoyed living there.
Sabrina T. I actually did not want to live in mertz but it being the biggest freshman dorm lots of people get put in Mertz bc lack of space in other dorms. Of course there are nicer ones but overall my experience wasn’t too bad just with occasional broken elevators.
The story of Loyola University is that there was a priest and a priest woman/monja that had a baby and they didn't want anyone to know and the priest woman/monja wanted the priest guy to quit being a priest but he didn't want to so the women hung herself and died so the guy didn't want to feel guilty so he jumped off a building and died so there spirits are in that school
Wally Kraus being in a big city, the LGBT+ community is definitely pretty large at Loyola! Boystown is super fun too, regardless of your sexual identity! Tbh, not many parties but more of hanging out with your close group of friends since parties tend to get shut down quickly. I just graduated, so I hope that helps!
It’s very hard to make college decisions as a senior in this pandemic, and your video genuinely helped me, Thank you so much for the information!

Great video! I loved watching it because I am latina myself, would you say there are a lot of latinos? It’s something very important to me because I want to have people that follow the same culture.
Sofia Chamat oh yes there’s a huge community and lots of ways to get involved in the Latino community

The dorm I lived in had a full kitchen in the common area!
Oh okay even better! So you shared it with like four people? Is that a common set up for freshman dorms?
Kianna Fraga I shared it with the whole dorm! I believe all freshmen dorms have a common area with a full kitchen, some might even have more than one kitchen depending on the dorm!

I’m going to Loyola this fall and I got a 1370 on my SAT, which is a 29 on the ACT. Don’t know if that helps lol but that’s my experience ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What is the GPA, SAT score, ACT score and scholarships to get in the school.
I don't want to study there, I'm just curious.
Goku Black hey! check out my new video going up next week for this and more questions answered!
Ok, thanks 👌
ACT- 24 or above
GPA- 3.7 or above

@@powpaupug what do you mean there are people on campus that help you pay?
Adam D no I’m referring to on/off campus jobs!
My actual last name is Loyola, you think I would get in for a discounted tuition? 😂
Templar Imperiex wouldn’t that be so nice if you could!!😂

What’s the out of state tuition? What’s included?
Crystal Zamora hello! Thanks for your question:) check out my new Q&A for updated answers!
Crystal Zamora Loyola does not have different in state/out of state tuition actually since it’s a private school! As far as tuition, this pretty much just includes your classes tbh.

It's one of the most haunted Schools
Hey I’m a new subscriber and I am interested in Loyola. Will you be willing to give me your email so I can ask you a couple of questions??
I will gladly answer any questions you may have, drop them below:)))
Paulina Aragon How are you able to afford the tuition? Were you awarded any institutional scholarships?
Yes! Loyola gave me a merit scholarship that helps me cover part of my tuition.
Paulina Aragon Okay, thank you!
Loyola University is actually haunted
Dolores Ruiz 😂😂😂
How?
Are there parties here and are there a lot of gay people? Please answer really wondering
Wally Kraus being in a big city, the LGBT+ community is definitely pretty large at Loyola! Boystown is super fun too, regardless of your sexual identity! Tbh, not many parties but more of hanging out with your close group of friends since parties tend to get shut down quickly. I just graduated, so I hope that helps!
have a interview for this school in 20 min ahahhaa
I'm her son
