This is so helpful! I've been binge watching your videos and feel like I've learned so much. It's been helping so much to watch the same ones and learn through repetition as well as write down the phrases, so thank you for writing everything! Avoids confusion a great deal
I am an Algerian who wants to learn the Iraqi dialect because I love this country and its people. Besides, we have a lot of words in common. Your video format really helps to acquire a lot of knowledge. Shako Mako!
Rami, these skids are very useful. Seeing the words used in actual everyday conversations makes a lot more sense than just the words by itself. Again not as an American or a European, not as an outsider, but as an Insider, some who is Kurdish and familiar with Arabic but not fluent, these videos are great learning tools. I hope you can continue to post videos for different situations like at a Hospital, Shopping, at an Airport, at home. So conversations for daily life.
Glad I came across your channel . I’m taking Arabic 2 and it feels more like Arabica 5 lol 😂 smh 🤦🏻♀️ I’m trying to figure out what are nominal sentences and what isn’t an actual sentence. Yeah still a beginner also assignment due tomorrow have to submit a recording of me ordering food from “Bab Al Hara“ For me and like three other friends . Drinks , appetizers , entrées , and dessert . Smh 🤦🏻♀️ …. glad I came across your channel . Love the effort you out in your videos . Wish my Professor did this.
You are such a good teacher! Shukran. The awesome liquor store owner helps me practice my arabic. He is so nice and is from Iraq so that is why I’m learning using the Iraq dialect. At first I was learning “arabic” in general I guess and the liquor store owner was not fully able to understand me. So in other countries it’s all a tad bit different.
Love the format, it's really well done, the pronunciation is super clear which helps the speech stick. Also the fact that you are playing different characters and doing it so well makes it all the more relatable. I enjoy the fact that you make us hear everything in Arabic first without support of any sort, that pushes your brain to work, in order to try and understand what's being said. I also like how you drop in expressions you have taught us before, the knowledge unfolds. The breakdown part is amazing, I imagine it must be quite a lot of work. I recognize a few words that are used in other dialects like ممكن or شباك. It would be interesting if you said, when you know it/are aware of it, whether a word or expression is used the same way in other dialects. You really do an amazing job! Keep it up!
Do you have a video that talks about how Arabic calendars work? I had heard that other cultures outside of Greek-Roman affected cultures have very different calendars.
Thanks for the video, these dialogue-type videos are really useful and teach a lot, hope to see more of these! What does he say at 1:18? ”Mumkin lee yazee 3ada” or something like that?
Thank you very much. Working on producing more videos like that. “Leeyah ليه” is fat when you buy shawarma people like extra fat. "Zyadah زيادة" means extra :)
Habibi, you needed Jessica ehan but you did a funny job playing both roles nontheless. Well done man. Just one curous thing: What is the دا for? It does not exist in the MSA. Is it something Iraqi specific? And the last point: Don't teach people to compliments Arab's wife in a restaurant, unless you'll be ready for a tough fight.
Haha yes I shoulda borrowed Jessica. This one woulda been very tough for her. I would say da is more Iraqi specific. I can’t think of how to translate it. Haha tough fight for sure 😂
The amount of effort you're putting into these 😩 super nice of you
Thank you :) I hope you like it
Ma Shaa Allah
Rami you’re the best

@@theiraqicouple Wow. I did not spot that. I thought it was "Mumkin Lee Zyadah" - "Can I have extra?" Or "Is it possible to give me extra"?

The word "I" is not ana? Is ani?
It’s ani in Iraqi dialect. Ana in modern standard Arabic
