yea. rap about love is too mainstream. our country need music to awaken our sense of nationality and identity. to not belittle ourselves and compare and be jealous of other country.
Idk sir iba iba kasi yung branch ng rap may alternative, horror core, love song and etc. This kind of rap is indeed more deserving than other mumble Filipino rappers, but this kind of rap is not easy to catch or relate to (idk kasi the lyrics lyrics are not that redundant like the other rap songs) like the mainstream rappers who uses words repeatedly siguro some of them are not quite well knowledgeable in Filipino vocabulary.
I am an African-American woman from Newark, NJ, and I currently live in the DC Metro area. I am literally in tears after watching this beautiful artistry. Although I do not know you personally, I am so very proud of you for uplifting your culture and women. RESPECT.

A year ago, an American recommended me this song saying she loves Philippine history and respects Filipinos. I can't believe I did not know Ruby Ibarra then. Filipinos have to give this the attention it deserves.
I'm a FIL-Am guy. At 3:50...I felt like you were talking to me. I just busted-out crying like a little baby. I grew up around blacks and Latino's. And though I have love for them, I always felt like I was missing something in my life, as if I were lost. The first time I saw this video, I was blown away just for the fact that these beautiful Pinays have lyrical skills. Months later, I'm watching this video for the second time. I get the message! Sometimes, I wish I were born on the West Coast surrounded by other Fil-Ams like me. I love y'all. I love US.
first off, this video needs to go viral. Filipinas have been constantly overseen by many in this country. The gag is a filipina is strong af, taking on so much for her family without even a crack in her smile. but this video talking about our culture which bleeds and spans for so long, it makes me cry but now im crying for other reasons. Now Im crying because im proud that I was blessed with being 1/2 filipina and seeing these women stand up, its powerful. More brown women. More women. Ancestors are smiling. My daughter will never not know what she comes from. Thank you.
Illam ko nang hirap-hirapan mo ate, maraming salamat sa kababayan naatin. Ang takot ko, parang wala nang nalalaman nang culturan naatin. Parang walang pride sa roots naatin.
The first time I heard this song there was a visceral reaction in my soul. I was so shook my ancestors felt it, the ones raped by Spaniards, the ones who had their lands stolen, the ones who hid in their children in bales of hay when they fought the Japanese. I didn’t know I needed this, truly decolonized incredibly intelligent piece in my life. I felt like I woke up again yo, so much strength, so much pride. This anthem has kept me going this year. Y’all are the bad asses. Filipinas years from now will continue to discover and be moved by your work. Keep fucking it up yo.
this track brings tears to my eyes tbh. I am Mexican and the Spaniards did a number in my homeland. Tracks like this are crucial and vital to empowering people to resist the effects of colonialism. Power to these sisters and the struggles they face. Also, as an aside, just like, the production of the video and the music are so fucking good. Amazing track exceptional talent. Hasta la victoria, siempre.
This! This is why as an Ilocano, though I am Intersectional, non-racial, Colonials would have referred to me as Mestiza. Being Ilocano, I understand the 400 years of Gorilla Warfare. We grew up in Oral Traditions. Unlike the other Indigenous Peoples of the Americas where Indigenous Peoples never could break free. In the Philippines, we have this core Soul Ethic. It runs from Island to Island. Not just the Philippines but I found it in Islanders who were story tellers in Queensland Austral too. We have this Island blood, we understand being Captives of Colonials. And, we have had these conversations for generations. It's like in our blood and our storytelling. We know other Indigenous Peoples around the World have been through the same historic treatment. And, our Rebellion is not just for Our Tribe. Our story tellers are freeing souls from the past generations of enslavement to fear, isolation and humility. We come from generations of people who say, "Think with your heart". You cannot get to know us until you are speaking from your heart. Because it's our core ethic - being real from our heart to yours.
As a biracial Thai American woman… this hits hard. I’ve needed women like you in my life for a long time. So glad I found you through the Asian Enough podcast. I was in tears this whole video. Thank you for being you. Your words are fire that my soul recognizes.
As a Filipino Feminist I was so happy that a Filipino hiphop music like this exists. I cried after hearing the lines about empowerment and social issues that Filipinos continue to experience every day through the oppressive government. Thank you! Please make more political songs like this!
@Roger Ritchie Message posted on youtube (white) through internet (white) from a cell phone (white) through 4g network (white) powered by grid (white) alimented by a plant (white)
yeah but they dna also contains spanish blood, european blood, white blood, just like us hispanics, rappers need to stop dividing the cultures, we all humans.. im glad not all filipinos share their ideology that the white mans trying to see them down or kill them.. come on bruh.. who after yall?? point them out and ill help.. who is THEY lol yall over privilege americans playing the victim card
Those Spanish, European, white blooded people were always the ones dividing the cultures, seeing others down and killing them. What books did you read?? Find some that aren't colonial white supremacist propaganda.
Lewis Rivers I understand what you’re saying, but however not all of us Filipinos have Spanish or European blood. My family has always been from the islands and has never married outsiders/foreigners
I am lateeeeeeeeee to this party. Never been more proud to be Filipina. Please continue to create, to share our story, we are with you. Your music lit a new a fire in me. Thank you. You have blessed us.
I remember as a kid, whenever I visited my family in the Bay Area, my aunt would always talk to me about being a proud Filipino, learning the language and preserving the culture. While I was always proud of my heritage, she was on another level that I didn’t quite understand as a kid. On one visit to the Bay, she took me to a youth conference in Sacramento. It was only at that moment I realized that she was an activist for Filipino identity and empowerment. She was a speaker at that conference. The energy and solidarity I felt at that conference is something I have never experienced here in Hawaii. Only as an adult did I understand the full meaning behind my aunt’s work and message. I got chills when I watched this video because I can feel the strength and power in these ladies and my aunt’s legacy lives on through them. Rest in Power Tiya Nonie Briones
pinoy islander we are austronesian, genetically speaking but we are South East Asian in ethnicity and culture. we have strong ancient influence from China and we are literally from south east Asia.
This is the kind of song that speaks from the heart. We still feel the pain and struggles of our ancestors. This is currently my hype song. I wish more people would listen to this!
I am not Filipino nor do I understand all the lyrics but this song is HARD. Props to you for representing your culture and being able to convey the pride you have for your people.
I am SOBBING. You all are beautiful and strong and seeing my culture, my people, and MYSELF repped in this video makes me feel so empowered. Thank you!
beastacz beastacz I don’t need it to feel empowered. I said it makes me feel empowered. There’s a difference and unless you’re a Filipino American woman I don’t think you’ll understand.
Mrs Torres not one time did I put that I was down or braver than your people just saying I Filipinos don't have it that hard at least read the whole comment before you get triggered and write nonsense.
This song empowers the true strength of a Filipina despite of the current issues of today such as the Kuwait-OFW slain murder, Colorism in the beauty industry, Minimum Wage, Discrimination from Misogynists, Rape and Sexual Harassment among women and many more. It doesn't matter whether you've grown up in the PH or in the other countries. It doesn't matter if you're a pure one or a biracial. All that matters is that DNA inside you that keeps your true Filipina identity come alive. This song has opened doors for Filipina Empowerment. Long live the Island Women!!!
This is one of my favorite videos of all time. I am not Pinoy, my girlfriend is, her daughter is, my goddaughters are, my godson is. When I hear this song it is a celebration of these amazing people that are in my life. I am so very grateful and proud.
Hello! I am a very light-skinned Filipina and often don't feel like I am worthy of being of this amazing ethnicity. I hear a lot that I could never actually be Filipino or that I am blatantly lying about my ethnicity but your words definitely made me feel better about who I am and who my ancestors are! :)
Your culture is imbedded within your soul and DNA, your skin colour will never define your connection to your culture - Yours sincerely, another light skinned Islander. I'm Samoan though but I feel what you are saying as I felt it within my my own culture
I am half filipino and have been told the same thing which has greatly made me question my identity - this song gave me chills and is making me look at my heritage in a new light. When I learned of my family’s history in school all we learned was how the Philippines was conquered/colonised over and over by different countries. We never learned of all the brave pinays who stood up against oppression and fought for their country. This song has showed me there is so much more to our heritage than what we learned in school. I am still questioning and exploring my filipino identity but this songs me proud even if I am only half filipino
@@musicalmiller there’s no half this and half that- that’s blood quantum shit and it’s weird. You’re Pinxy! I also struggle with my identity there too- I think many of us do.
brrr I don't hear it but... if she did say it then 1. they'd be no different than any white supremacist 2. this is native Land which they're occupying so the joke would be on them.
Its good to see an actual Filipina proud of her culture. Most of the ones I've met are mentally colonized and all want to mimic their European colonizers or seek approval from them .
My struggle is being colonized and wanting approval from my Filipino family and friends. My whole life has been them looking down on the fact that I've never been to the Philippines. I was never taught the language. None of that was my fault. When I say I'm Filipino. I say I'm Filipino-American. Because then they expect me to speak Tagalog. I've become so insecure be about it.... Another one is being thought of as Mexican. Now I'm not hating on the Mexican ladies because they're beautiful. I'm just so sick and tired of being considered Mexican. Even the Filipinos at my job thought I was. 💔
Another one that's not a big deal anymore is I rarely date Filipino guys. I don't even wanna date them anymore because they don't like me. They don't consider me Filipina. Could be because I look Mexican or because I can't speak Tagalog. Whatever the case. I don't even give them a second glance anymore.
Angel Blackhorse I’m mestizo blood Mexican Filipino German and I know how it feel not to be able to fit in anywhere ppl made fun of me for not being full Blood but I’m proud of myself
Mentally colonized? My dude, if you were born in a western country, you will most likely support that country and it's people. I lived in Philippines (Baguio) for 5 years and although I enjoyed all those years, I will still fight for my home country (United States) I'm a Filipino American.
I’m only 25% Filipina but I was raised with my Filipino side & it’s the side of my family that I’ve always identified with the most. As a kid I felt not Filipino enough for the Filipino kids in school and not white enough for the white kids.. but this song gave me chills and absolutely has awoken my ancestors of my blood. Proud Filipina here, even if it’s only a quarter 🥰
I’ve always felt like my blood was a war because it has both colonizers and oppressed in it, but my visayan lineage is stronger than any of my colonizer bloodline could ever be.
This made me cry.. this is the ongoing struggle for us Filipinos born & raised in other countries. It's a struggle to have to be both. I'm a quarter white and I identify more with being Filipina. But here people think I'm Native or Mexican. I started putting a 🇵🇭 sticker on my work badge just so people can get it right. Or at least ask what flag that is. We're not Filipino enough for the Filipinos and not such & such for (insert country, including Fils in other countries besides America, here) I heard the same thing from people in America who hail from other countries. As Indian-American rapper, Raja Kumari said in her song "N.R.I" "Sorry that my sari ain't Indian enough And America don't love me 'cause I'm Indian as fuck" I'm not Indian but this speaks to me deeply. Because it's ALL of our struggles. The problem with talking to some family members, they'll bash the shit outta you for not knowing Tagalog but they're never ready for that conversation of "But they raised me here in America. They NEVER taught me Tagalog. They wanted me to assimilate" Yes, I know. We can always learn now but it's so much harder to learn a language as an adult, not to mention not having people to speak it to, so no practice. I live in Missouri now.. Filipinos are scarce, they're here. Just spread out. ☹️ I am making an effort to learn though. It's my goal before I die. I know some sentences & songs. I can sort of understand but having a full conversation is a struggle. One memory that has stuck with me ever since I was 15. I was stuck in a van on a road trip. With my brother's (technically half but I consider him my brother-brother) side of the family. We were going to San Francisco. Our grandma was speaking to me. All I said was "opo" in response.. my brother's aunt said "Is that all you know, 'opo'?" With such a tone & facial expression of disdain and annoyance. I just said "..yeah.." w/a tone that accepted defeat. That fucking hurt.. bad. 🥺 I just wanted to leave the van and run but couldn't go anywhere. Couldn't do a thing except turn my head away & look out the window. I put my sweater over my face and cried silently. Since then, it's been triggering for me when other Filipinos say "oh you can't speak Tagalog. Then you're not Filipino enough" or "not a real Filipino". Those "jokes" are so counterproductive, hurtful, & disrespectful. Anyway, sorry this was long.. I needed to vent a little.
There is no such thing as a Quarter Filipina. You are all that you are, all of it. You are as blood related to your ancestors than any cousin. Give the quarter back to the dollar. No one is half anything. We are all whole.
Don't understand a lot of it, but I'm definitely feelin it. That's the beauty of music, u like what u like. Hip Hop is Hip Hop regardless of the language. It moves u for a reason.
When I first went to the Philippines with my grandparents like 1980, I noticed my cousins looked Indian. My nephew did his DNA. His Y-DNA, passed only father to sons, was a South East Asia -Y-DNA. Amongst people in the Philippines who study our ancestors, which of course like my ancestors I do follow the Worship of Ancestors vs Religion, believe from the evidence of anthropology and genetics, some male lines migrated from South East Asia. I have an ancient last name, an ancient Ilocano last name. There is an ancient Sanskrit legend about a warrior with my last name. The female mtDNA matriarchal lines, the original female lines are of Polynesian or Island female lineages. When I first tested at 23andme now years ago, before identifying my Ilocano genes, they identified some of my genes as Polynesian. It took some years to get enough Ilocanos to take the tests. Lol. But I am saying, not all, but at least some male bloodlines crossed from the Continent migrating fo the islands. So, when one is any tribe of the Philippines, We All Know by Our Oral Traditions We Share Ancestors throughout the Continent of Asia. And, to be clear, We All Know We Are Related to People Around the World. Because, Islanders Be Traveling.
Proudly half Filipino and this is exactly the reason I had to marry a strong, resilient yet loving Filipina! Even being half Filipino, I see the pride of our people, culture and heritage and therefore I see the beauty and strength of our women 🔥🇵🇭💯✊🏽 Want to instill this into our kids as well
🔥🔥🔥. I’m an African American woman , but I feel everything thru all of your lyrics! What a way to represent and pay homepage to your culture, women and ancestors ❤️❤️
As a person of color this song really resonated with me because of the struggles my people continue to face for over 400 years. The delivery of the message through the art form of Hip Hop was done masterfully from the lyrics to beat, I felt the base in my soul. We should always aim to live peacefully with all men, but we should never be content with any strong holds of oppression whether it mind or body, or modern or ancient history. Our oppressor is only most comfortable with diversity for as long as they sit at the top of that hierarchy controlling and moving all the chess pieces on the board. When the Filipinas are in a position of subjugation and servitude the oppressor is completely comfortable because he is glorified and worshipped by those who are without understanding and knowledge of self and sadly ignorantly re-enforce many false doctrine and miseducation among their own people. The truth is the Spaniards oppressed the Philippines and the ruthless legacy of this is still worn by the many faces of the Philippines. Sadly by some this tyrannical lineage can be seen as a badge of honor I admire and respect the women of this video, represent your people and be proud. Much respect. 👍
identity crisis, filipinos aint brown lol what about the ones whiter than white, can they still claim brown cuz they're filipinos?? colors for identity is the stupidest thing humans have came up with.. smdh.. form a human alliance, stop pushing division amongst people
I'm French and I love any rap style, I don't understand all the sentences cause there is a mix between english, tagalog and other dialect from Philippines. Keep it proud from your roots and culture. #realhiphop #hiphopneverdie #southeastasianrap #womenrights
I absolutely love and respect the strength of the new, young, modern Pinay who are just so strong and do not bend to the norms of the Filipino patriarchy. I've see too many of my female relatives suppressed, oppressed, and ultimately depressed from the religious patriarchy and the male rulings without questioning it. I love the strength I see in this. I wish I could meet them and do a short documentary to show this new movement of strong Filipino women who probably would make my mother and other female relatives cringe. But that would be good. All I want to say is KEEP IT UP!!! Pinay Strong! I love it!!!
My professor showed your video in class!!!!! We was too littt and she was too. The class is southeast asian dance for urban globalization dance. Im excited for the class and glad she showed us your video!!! Its beautifulll and realll
I'm obsessed. This fills my heart with pride and makes me tear up with joy. I didn't used to be proud to have Filipina heritage but I'm glad I found my way home. This song is like an anthem.
Beautiful music video. I was kinda worried about the appearance of traditional costume. I know as asians are very proud about the culture, but some of the prideful show can be cross the border of self-exoticizing or self-orientalizing, i know an artist of my own country that does that to capture western audience. And i'm glad none of that happens here. The traditional costume is not out of context with the message. It's also not sexualizing it. Props to Ruby Ibarra for showing Philippines diversity. I notice some of them are quite similar to my culture. From your neighbor, indonesia
damn. im crying. all the thoughtful gestation, collective incubation, community love, and hard work definitely reveals itself in the final product. excited for this birth of another beautiful, creative brain child to the world! incredibly grateful you welcomed me and our whole community to be part of this. official pinay anthem. on. repeat! xoxo, infinite kapwa power, ev
This is too much! I've looped this track I don't know how may hundreds of times already. An instant classic. And Klassy with that mousy little voice, but what she spit... Got me _shook,_ I tell you
Just found you, married to an Ilocana from San Marcilino, Zambales played your song and you teared up my wife....keep telling her about her beautiful dark brown skin.....mos definitely be following you....i am a Pocho (Tisoy) but hate that colonizer term....but a proud CHICHIMECA.....Brown Power sis....i may look fair skinned but 100% brown inside.....
SALAMAT Ruby, Rocky, Faith, Klassy, and all the cast and crew for this piece of work. As a Filipina of the diaspora - this project is a gift, a blessing, and an empowering reminder. I am so thankful towards you for this.
On repeat! Maraming salamat for this! Island women rise. In the diaspora & this warms my heart. Best part is hearing my 5 year old singing “nothing on us!” as she walks around our house
I was down this tonight told I'm part of something bigger... I'm glad it's this... I'm here for the land, the people, the rebellion. Protect the indigenous.
You have no idea how much this song, this album impacted me. I don't know if you read comments, but if you're ever in New York, and I'm shooting a LONG shot here, I'd love to shoot a video with you. This song legit inSPIRED me creatively, and emotionally. I'm so glad I found you.
I realized I didn't know any filipina rappers so I took to TH-cam to find some and I am so glad I stumbled upon this!! More filipinos should hear and know about this song because it speaks nothing but the truth. Sobrang saludo ako sa inyo and you have a new supporter in me!
I remember watching a video of ruby freestyling in a music festival and I knew she was going to be huge. Awesome video. Kick ass song. Lakas ng kapangyarihan mo. Nkakatindig balahibo hehe On Repeat

yea. rap about love is too mainstream. our country need music to awaken our sense of nationality and identity. to not belittle ourselves and compare and be jealous of other country.
👍👍👍
Idk sir iba iba kasi yung branch ng rap may alternative, horror core, love song and etc. This kind of rap is indeed more deserving than other mumble Filipino rappers, but this kind of rap is not easy to catch or relate to (idk kasi the lyrics lyrics are not that redundant like the other rap songs) like the mainstream rappers who uses words repeatedly siguro some of them are not quite well knowledgeable in Filipino vocabulary.

VERSE 1 (Ruby Ibarra)
Yo fuck a story arc if it don’t involve no matriarchs/
Our mothers work from the ground up, they craftin air like ATR/
With the butterfly sleeves naka Filipiniana, pag nagsalita mga banat ay bala/
‘Wag magtaka kung ako ay makata bulok na sistema, korakot sa pera, bagsak!/
But we puttin’ our heart into darkness, they puttin’ these pigs into office/
Oh you thinkin’ you schoolin’? but you hella lost ‘cuz you Betsy Devos while I taught this/
But Look at my ate she movin so cold, can’t hold a candle to her when she glow/
Flick of the wrist with the ilaw she hold, Pandanggo sa Ilaw, she drippin’ in gold/
VERSE 2 (Rocky Rivera)
We pullin' up in a Jeepney
All of my soldiers greet me/
Hand me bandanas and pull back my hammer, it’s warfare, when you see me/
Skin you alive for my country, I live and die for my country/
I kill a pig in a white hooded suit on the low....for my country/
They got evil plans in the devil’s hands, but I don't pray cuz I organize/
They got new ways to impose strength, so I teach mine how to mobilize/
We don’t fight for the money, for the greedy, for the white man/
All we want is our freedom, and the right to live on on our motherland/
HOOK
VERSE 3 (Klassy)
Goddess of guerilla warfare in every lifetime/
We don’t take no shit except an oppressor’s lifeline/
If you step out of your line, I will protect what’s mine/
Kahit merong rosaryo, sinong magliligtas sa’yo?/
Puro dugo, pugot ulo, mula sa dagat hanggang mundo/
Reclaiming what ours, the high and the low/
These women are Gods, you already know/
Roots deeper than water that run in our village/
The river runs red, you’ll be dead in a minute/
Like Nieves Fernandez, have you beheaded/
Fuck with my tribe, quickly regret it/
VERSE 4 (Ruby Ibarra)
I got that, Filipino phenotype: kayumanggi, mestizo-white/
But give me that moreno like that Rufio or Keno type/
My lolas they be speaking like, those balisongs or bolo knife/
I breathe the ether need no hype, two tongues that’s sharper with a mic/
Anino in my history like from a land where greed is weaved in tight/
They thieve until one piso might just turn to C-Notes, see no light/
Hacienda like Aquino, right? Rodrigo vigilante type--/
They kill my titos left and right, when smoke and mirrors fill the night/
SPOKEN WORD (Faith Santilla)
So let it be known, if you don’t already/
Pinays have always been part, and parcel, if not, imperative and critical to the struggle/
Filipinas are no strangers to wielding our own power/
Of all the privileges that exist in this world, none of which you may be a benefactor of/
There is at least one you bare/
And that is the privilege of having been born a Filipina/

I love US.
sometimes i wish i was around more filams too but honestly most of us did grow up around black and hispanic folks. love to all people!!
first off, this video needs to go viral.
Thank you.

It doesn’t matter it’s your blood sis!!! Be proud to be pinay no matter what

I am still questioning and exploring my filipino identity but this songs me proud even if I am only half filipino

i guess that sounds right lol. im not mad or anything, its just what i thought i heard at first glance.
Resistance to what?

Mentally colonized? My dude, if you were born in a western country, you will most likely support that country and it's people. I lived in Philippines (Baguio) for 5 years and although I enjoyed all those years, I will still fight for my home country (United States) I'm a Filipino American.

Very rare for a korean to look up on us filipinos and its an honor to be supported by you thank you and godbless
K E How can others look up to us when we look down on ourselves.
We're not Filipino enough for the Filipinos and not such & such for (insert country, including Fils in other countries besides America, here)
I heard the same thing from people in America who hail from other countries.
As Indian-American rapper, Raja Kumari said in her song "N.R.I"
"Sorry that my sari ain't Indian enough
And America don't love me 'cause I'm Indian as fuck"
I'm not Indian but this speaks to me deeply. Because it's ALL of our struggles.
The problem with talking to some family members, they'll bash the shit outta you for not knowing Tagalog but they're never ready for that conversation of "But they raised me here in America. They NEVER taught me Tagalog. They wanted me to assimilate"
Yes, I know. We can always learn now but it's so much harder to learn a language as an adult, not to mention not having people to speak it to, so no practice. I live in Missouri now.. Filipinos are scarce, they're here. Just spread out. ☹️
I am making an effort to learn though.
That fucking hurt.. bad. 🥺
I just wanted to leave the van and run but couldn't go anywhere.
@@F1RaceCarYaya that's because you fell for liberal bullshit

I'm Indian American, and I love this song (this whole album!) so much. Brown women rise indeed!
100% all Brown women are beautiful we need to be strong in this together!

Sadly by some this tyrannical lineage can be seen as a badge of honor
I admire and respect the women of this video, represent your people and be proud.

Sickkkkkkklkkkkkk!!!!
I'm obsessed. This fills my heart with pride and makes me tear up with joy. I didn't used to be proud to have Filipina heritage but I'm glad I found my way home. This song is like an anthem.
Welcome home sis ❤️
Beautiful music video. I was kinda worried about the appearance of traditional costume. I know as asians are very proud about the culture, but some of the prideful show can be cross the border of self-exoticizing or self-orientalizing, i know an artist of my own country that does that to capture western audience. And i'm glad none of that happens here. The traditional costume is not out of context with the message. It's also not sexualizing it. Props to Ruby Ibarra for showing Philippines diversity. I notice some of them are quite similar to my culture.
From your neighbor, indonesia
I got chills watching this
I'm genuinely sad this isn't heard by many. Even if it's late, I hope this gets heard by more people especially during these times.
I just heard it today and hopefully others hear it too

I was down this tonight told I'm part of something bigger... I'm glad it's this... I'm here for the land, the people, the rebellion. Protect the indigenous.
You have no idea how much this song, this album impacted me. I don't know if you read comments, but if you're ever in New York, and I'm shooting a LONG shot here, I'd love to shoot a video with you. This song legit inSPIRED me creatively, and emotionally. I'm so glad I found you.
Happy International Women’s Day to all you beautiful courageous and resilient human beings!!!
It's a very powerful thing when the director, producer and writer in control of the lens is the artist herself. thank you ruby for repping hard.

Ps only one person refused to join in torturing me in 2020, a Philipino And Chinese ancestry man, he said " NO ! I wont do this!" Though the other eleven european- americans people broke every limb on my body, except him ...that refusal to torture me held longer than my bones took to heal! Forever in his debt. May him and his future daughters NEVER walk ALONE in this world. Trust YOur struggle!!! Stand up for Asian Love and Asian Pacific Diasporan SAFEty collective safety for our elders, your elders , and our grandkin to come. I owe my life to that asian Philipino king. To my best freind, Elizabeth who taught me ( long story but second grade teacher who is also African like me, after i got higher grades in 2nd grade than 96.8 percent of students in all of America, but raised by a 14 yr old mother ,who was a addict, Queen Elizabeth my best freind (who was then,a sixth grade Filipines goddess btw) she told me no...your not gonna let the teacher who put me down for achieving hogher grades than 96.8percent of students on standardized testing , had achieved, and she Elizabeth, taught my second grade ass Multiplication tables at age 7, and i shoved it right in the faceof the teacher, female also African american ,like my mom, but she'd whispered,in self loathing style, " your smart but terrible at MATH!" LYRICS ☺️
Island woman rise, walang makakatigil
Brown, brown woman, rise, alamin ang yung ugat
They got nothin' on us (aye!)
Nothin' on us (aye!)
Nothin' on us (aye!)
Nothin' on us
Island woman rise, walang makakatigil
Brown, brown woman, rise, alamin ang yung ugat
They got nothin' on us (aye!)
Nothin' on us (aye!)
Nothin' on us (aye!)
Isang bagsak!
Yo fuck a story arc if it don't involve no matriarchs
Our mothers work from the ground up, they craftin' air like ATR
With the butterfly sleeves naka Filipiniana
Pag nagsalita mga banat ay bala
'Wag magtaka kung ako ay makata
Bulok na sistema, korakot sa pera, bagsak!
But we puttin' our heart into darkness
They puttin' these pigs into office
Oh you thinkin' you schoolin'?
But you hella lost 'cuz you Betsy Devos while I taught this
But Look at my ate she movin so cold
Can't hold a candle to her when she glow
Flick of the wrist with the ilaw she hold
Pandanggo sa Ilaw, she drippin' in gold
We pullin' up in a Jeepney
All of my soldiers greet me
Hand me bandanas and pull back my hammer
It's warfare, when you see me
Skin you alive for my country, I live and die for my country
I kill a pig in a white hooded suit on the low... for my country
They got evil plans in the devil's
Hands, but I don't pray cuz I organize
They got new ways to impose strength
But I teach mine how to mobilize
We don't fight for the money, for the greedy, for the white man
All we want is our freedom
And the right to live on on our motherland
Island woman rise, walang makakatigil
Brown, brown woman, rise, alamin ang yung ugat
They got nothin' on us (aye!)
Nothin' on us (aye!)
Nothin' on us (aye!)
Nothin' on us
Island woman rise, walang makakatigil
Brown, brown woman, rise, alamin ang yung ugat
They got nothin' on us (aye!)
Nothin' on us (aye!)
Nothin' on us (aye!)
Isang bagsak!
Goddess of guerilla warfare in every lifetime
We don't take no shit except an oppressor's lifeline
If you step out of your line, I will protect what's mine
Kahit merong rosaryo, sinong magliligtas sa'yo?
Puro dugo, pugot ulo, mula sa dagat hanggang mundo
Reclaiming what ours, the high and the low
These women are Gods, you already know
Roots deeper than water that run in our village
The river runs red, you'll be dead in a minute
Like Nieves Fernandez, have you beheaded
Fuck with my tribe, quickly regret it
I got that, Filipino phenotype: kayumanggi, mestizo-white
But give me that moreno like that Rufio or Keno type
My lolas they be speaking like, those balisongs or bolo knife
I breathe the ether need no hype
Two tongues that's sharper with a mic
Anino in my history like from a land where greed is weaved in tight
They thieve until one piso might just turn to C-Notes, see no light
Hacienda like Aquino, right? Rodrigo vigilante type--
They kill my titos left and right,
When smoke and mirrors fill the night
So let it be known, if you don't already
Pinays have always been part, and
Parcel, if not, imperative and critical to the struggle
Filipinas are no strangers to wielding our own power
Of all the privileges that exist in this
World, none of which you may be a benefactor of
There is at least one you bear
And that is the privilege of having been born a Filipina
Your DNA contains building blocks made from the
Mud of over 500 years of resistance and survival
And when you are ready, sis, we'll be right here
Island woman rise, walang makakatigil
Brown, brown woman, rise, alamin ang yung ugat
They got nothin' on us (aye!)
Nothin' on us (aye!)
Nothin' on us (aye!)
Nothin' on us
Island woman rise, walang makakatigil
Brown, brown woman, rise, alamin ang yung ugat
They got nothin' on us (aye!)
Nothin' on us (aye!)
Nothin' on us (aye!)
Isang bagsak!
