When I was 13, I would've read this and changed my whole personality to mimic that of the protagonist for two weeks

This needs more implausible divisions of society with catchy collective shorthand names.

You know what "Young adult" means, right? It's a novel too bad for actual adults to enjoy, but slightly to complicated and/or edgy for actual children.

This is like the 8th time Ive watched this and I just realized that Crest isn't just a stereotypical shitty name for a lead character, its a goddamn toothpaste brand. Dammit.

Why so much hate on the 3rd book? In, like, 20 years, people are gonna start admitting it's their favorite. You're just not ready.

He's "quiet" but talks for two minutes straight without shutting up.

Also remember that nobody tries to fight the cartoonishly evil super-government until they're inspired by a plucky photogenic teenager.

This seems like a man who reads a lot of YA dystopian novels.

they said "ass" and "frick" two times in the book and it's R rated.

I bet Suzanne Collins feels a lot like Oppenheimer when she sees the monsters she (accidentally) helped popularize.

Wait till halfway through the third or fourth book when you realize that the time skip was just there to age up the main character so that he can have a terribly written, slightly underage, very uncomfortable, chapter long sex scene - probably with the government.

His dad must be the elusive Fifth Dentist that everyone's always talking about.

I used to have this shitty job as a janitor at the hospital and to tide over the time when I was on break I used to read dystopian YA novels because my grandma always gave me a bunch of them but never actually read into them. And let me tell you, some of them were exactly how this video described them. Save for the fact that most of them were written by James Patterson.

I love how they spend the first five pages over describing Shy Beefy Boy, and then the mom dies on the next page.
