    Isn't it interesting how when we all listen to these broadcasts we visualize our own individual imagery. We all see a different yet similar town or Marshall. Without realizing it they made millions of different movies that play in our minds. I love it.

      That’s why radio is still popular!! You design the set !! It’s what you want it to look like in your mind! The sound effects make the difference!!!

    The real Dodge City had a "Peace Commission" featuring, among others, Wyatt Earp and Bat Masterson. They were never without a genuine lawman. They would never have left the town to be protected by someone like Chester.

    Dolly would probably be diagnosed as a psychopath by modern psychology.

      Ya didn't need psychology to know when a woman like her was not right back then! That's just universal to recognize these sort of things. Or to put it simply, she's just rotten. The labels from psychology... well ya can't just write off people as simply not functioning right, man isn't a machine, how he (or she) ends up and what state he (or she) chooses to remain in, is of his (her) own decision.

      @@jacobj3933 Writing people off as not functioning right is exactly what psychology is meant to NOT do. In your first sentence, you say "...a woman like her was not right..." but then you say after, "ya can't just write people off as imply not functioning right..." so you contradicted yourself. But psychology is meant to figure out how people tend to be a bit off and help the person correct themselves so they don't stay in the state they are. It's often not as easy as making a decision to change. How often have you seen people who try to change something small about themselves but fail?

    Not sure I get it. It's OK to attempt murder of a lawman? That's like sending a gun shooter from Chicago on a bus to Los Angeles...

    Why is the title "Wind"?

    • @44032
      @44032 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Gunsmoke's titles were never announced or shown on the TV show. They simply served to identify which script was being used that week. Sometimes the title referred to the plot. Sometimes they just made up something. This season includes stories entitled "Wind", "Dirt", "Grass", "Sky" and "Moon". There's also "Fall Semester" and "Spring Term". The Third season brought my favorite, "The F/U" which, per "Gunsmoke, A Complete History" by SuzAnne and Gabor Barrabas, "stands for exactly what you think it stands for."
