Hey thanks for doing the American Association I live just a 10 minute walk from from the Goldeyes stadium they have good food with healthy portions and the sightlines are all good and close to the action!!
I still have yet to check out a game up North in Winnipeg. I live in Fargo, ND and I actually work in Video Production with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks… so I already know what home games are like, would be cool to check out a road game and Winnipeg is definitely one of those stops I would like to check out
Kansas City Monarchs were the most successful team in the Negro Leagues. Which was very popular in WW2 since half of the good players were fighting in WW2. Players like Satchel Paige, Ernie Banks, Elston Howard, Quincy Trouppe, all played for Kansas City Monarchs. Later played in MLB. -- since stats from Negro Leagues were integrated by MLB tecently, Toni Stone became the first woman to play in the Negro Leagues. Therefore, also in the MLB.
One other thing...The Saltdogs nickname for the Lincoln team refers to Salt Creek which runs thru Lincoln and is directly behind the stadium. Right next to it is Nebraska's softball stadium. Memorial Stadium is across I-180 and Pinnacle Bank arena is within walking distance.
7:55 I like the view of the highway. The Chicago Dogs is a top rated mascot/team name. edit: 9:10 we call Winnipeg Winterpeg but I shouldn't laugh cause where I live would have similar climate but we do get less wind here.
I live in the Chicago burbs and it's so fun having some teams that are easy to get to. Kane County cougars as well I love thirsty Thursdays. 2.00 for hamms and Highlife at the dogs games. There are teams from other leagues as well. Boomers, Slammers, Thunderbolts.
Legends Field was the home of Sporting KC back in the late 2000's. It is just to the north of Children's Mercy Park (Sporting's stadium) and Kansas Speedway and across the street from a huge outdoor mall. If I understand the reports correctly, the Chiefs are considering a location just to the west of the stadium for their new stadium.
Been to several Kane County games when they were still a Single A affiliate, it's a solid venue. Chicago Dogs being right near the highway is great for accessibility, and they have some of the best prices for food and tickets in the area
I haven't been to a Kane County game in years, but when they were an A Ball team that place would pretty much sell out every weekend. I hope they're still doing so in this independent league.
@@Throwbackdcow The Railroaders refers to the town's history of having a Sante Fe maintenance facility. There are no tracks near the ballpark. But yeah, there are tracks 20 ft. outside of the SteelYard in Gary.
Kane county cougars was one minor league most popular teams and they throw it all the away when they join this league. They don't have crowds like they used to friday Saturday night they draw 10000 to 15000 now they lucky to draw 6000.
They still draw the most fans in the league. And don't have to be affiliated with some shitty Chicago team. I'd say it's a win. Now if we can bring South Bend into the Association...
Impact Field is overrated (yeah, my YT profile pic was taken there). It's a nice place to see a game, and definitely a big league vibe when the place is full, but it's overrated. Players don't like it much, either.
